That's why I love the Thief series. No matter how good you think you know these games, you always discover details, references and secrets here and there.
That's why the spider in that scene is dry, crumbly, and releases dust. It's life was sucked out. In TDS, this is why we see the lemon wedge and bread rot and dry up first thing in the scene where Caduca reads the prophecies.

Yeah. Corruption, Injustice, Desecration, Curses... The strong presence of pools and puddles and streams of Necromantic energies webbing The City. The known instances can usually be determined by the story that often accompanies them.

It's quite... violent to play TDP without meeting Brother Murus. :p I'll see if I can provide a picture of Sgt Marley, don't know if he really appears in SQ but at least he has a name in T3Ed's GameSys.
