For those of you who don't know, I'm starting a petition to have Eidos give us the old Thief stuff like the source code, beta versions, and whatever was made for T2G.
I need all of your support to make this possible, please. I recently created a new message board just for this topic at EZBoard. You can view it by (
http://pub144.ezboard.com/bthiefpetition) clicking here.
There will be more to come, check back often to keep updated!
Ok, that was ages ago, but the Thief Community still exists, as does this petition!
The link to it is (

Sounds interesting, I've signed it.
I have great doubts as to what impact this might have, chances are Eidos destroyed all the data already.

I'm not some programmer or anything but if it helps improve the editors guild, then why not.

you know, there are easier ways to make a petition
like (
http://www.petitiononline.com/) petition online perhaps?
wasn't there already some discussion of this?
and that the rights part right and left too much to haul together?
or am i remembering something else
i hate copyrights

Wouldn't it be much(!) better to do it here? (
http://www.petitiononline.com/)
You might get some more votes. ;)
*Edit: You S_hole! You can't just post the same link as me! Who do you think you are? :p

BWAHAHAHAHAA!1
feel my wrath!

Petition online is much easier - more people will sign it. Registering on a forum just to sign a petition is silly. To much hassle.

I suppose they ARE correct in this respect.
Who wants to register the P-O account?

I offered this link (among two others) as a potential place to house the petition ages ago (well, not quite..).. I guess ataricom was too taffing inebriated to see or act on it. Oh well, now we have at least three taffers complaining about it ;)
See, you should've listened to me!! :p
EDIT: Ahh, I see now that it was set up right now just to come up with a solid petition before going to Petition Online. I would still think it'd be easier to do it here, as we're already registered and know everyone else.
I think you should replace "Looking Glass was shut down" (as it could almost be seen as a finger pointing gesure towards Eidos) "Looking Glass went out of business" or something similar. Also "(release date not determined)" doesn't need to be in there. You should make it clear us, the existing fans of Eidos/Thief, will assuredly purchase a beta or Ultimate Thief Edition package before even saying it will attract more customers. Rather than stating it will help the entire Thief community, it should be helping the entire game community or Eidos gaming community :thumb:. You might even want to remark that ID allowed their Doom alphas to be released/shared publicly (for free) because of the rich historical interest and content provided. If you mention that, once more reassure Eidos we'll be willing to pay the big bucks for it (as opposed to assuming the stuff would be released free of charge), and I also think mentioning the thriving Fan Mission community, keeping the Thief community alive and well, is also in due order. Sort of a "You owe us" bit :laff:. A few thoughts..
