This needs publicity.

Come on, all you taffers out there! It might work! (Just look what popular opinion did for Firefly; as in 'Serenity'.)

We have been crying for this for years. I have grown jaded and sceptical...especially since my messages to the new caretaker of the Eidos public relations have been ignored for months since my initial PM. He said he would get back to me and never did. He hasn't answered me since.

Of course, why should he? Eidos is a serious company,
all they want is to make more producs - and more money. They have no advantage of giving the original Thief assets and source to the fanboy crowd. Instead, it will even cost them something (they would have to ponder about financial risks, the proper license; they would might have to consult the original programmers etc.). On the bottom line: too much work without getting any profit. Eidos is not id, and will never become. TDM or Thievery UT are the way to go today.

I don't think it'll happen, but it's still probably worth a try.
It's possible the new PR guy just forgot to get back to you. A polite follow-up message might at least get a definitive answer.

Heh, that's what I meant. :) I've sent two polite follow-up messages.
