I tend to go where I wish during play, depending on my stash of weaponry etc...
I find that I will only ghost if I am down to the last few defences...and anyway... you miss soooo much of the hilarious conversations and observations of the guards and other characters that it would be sad to just ghost all the time......most of the observations happen when you are nearly seen and they are unsure whether they saw you....sometimes I will even provoke a show to get a reaction....
I've played thief furiously since TDP came out and now my daughter who is 11 watches me and plays too.......we will rush around the city and as soon as you die we have to switch and its her turn....its such a great game!...we both sit there hootin and hollerin...like little girls,so much so that Hub cant hear his tv....Heh Heh!
Long may it continue! xx

Like mother, like daughter, no? :cheeky: Now thats my kind of family tradition, to hell with reunions!! :laff:
My general modes of play are either:
a) Try my damndest to not kill anyone w/ a normal loadout and cash, or
b) Cheat as much as fucking possible w/o using DromEd, getting hundreds of flashers, arrows, and whatnot, and really screw with both the guards and "innocent" bystanders!!
I generally play normally w/ a bit of cheating, but I cheat like hell when im either really bored or really pissed off and my x360 wont work, thereby keeping me from playing The Darkness, and getting a thrill of tentacle raping people thru the chest and eating thier hearts after crushing them with thier own car!! :ebil:
Wow... I really need to lay off caffiene or somethin, I enjoy talking/writing about that kinda stuff waaaaay too much...

I usually take take al the guard out with a good bonk on the head but if i see any zombies, robots, ratmens, fire elemental.. i kill them

I sneak up behind the taffers and then whack them one shot with a blackjack, they go down so 'gracefully' :ebil:
or I use a broadhead and shoot a loud surface with it, then either pick them off with gas arrows, get their attention and run behind a door (that opens towards yourself) then KO them or flashbang them then KO them.
Also like those who use dromed, I made a KO arrow. It sounds like a blackjack when it hits those poor taffers on their heads

I've traditionally been a Ghoster, but as of late I'm finding that getting caught is not that big of a deal, and can be used as a great advantage. A guard might see you, run away from his post to catch you, spends the next several minutes searching rather than guarding his post. This is helpful when playing on hard difficulty.
However, sometimes I am in a certain mood  And I put the difficulty to Normal, and just do nice combat combos. Exempli Gratia: Headshot an unsuspecting guard with a broadhead arrow, then subseqently use a bomb or gas arrow to take out his newly angered friends. Thief is not about carnage, but sometimes it can be satisfying. :ebil:

The KO arrow does exactly what the BJ does... from a distance. It helps for KO'ing some of those most irritating archer guards and spellcasters. :ebil:
I even modded my gamesys to provide complete support for the mages and hammerites from Thief Gold, and added some extra spice to the game - I made the servants aggressive as well :ebil:

You mean the little ScurryBots?! What in the Builder's name could they do? Molest you with thier...attachments? :eww:
Iain on 13/7/2007 at 09:36
I did it to the bystander NPC's, not any form of bots, like the two servants in bafford's mansion in the 'Blooper Reel' level on Thief Gold. any servant bystanders, not nobles now attack me. :ebil:
Jah on 13/7/2007 at 11:57
But what do they attack you with? Their bare hands?
Iain on 14/7/2007 at 09:35
sure do! :ebil:
It's a case of assigning the blackjack to them as an AIWeapon and setting their motion->actortaglist to human with sword.
