I'll be very surprised if Garrett won't have any kind of a blade in Thief 4. Not just surprised either, but quite disappointed too - I'm looking forward to some challenging and fun one-on-one melee action (for those moments when I miserably fail at sneaking, get caught, and have to fight my way out of the situation!)
Aren't water arrows supposed to be called dry ice arrows or something now?

The Thief subforum makes me sad. It's not about what is going to be good or bad in the game, it's about the level of conversation that place has. It's just...urgh.

I decided to bail on the subforums until the gameplay video comes out. Right now, all it is is a bunch of people getting together to nitpick each and every word in every interview so they can interpret it all in the worst possible way. It's gotten so bad, it's almost like reading a conspiracy theory forum.
...are you sure this picture of someone playing a game that uses an over the shoulder perspective is from Prince of Persia like they said? Are you sure they're not lying to us because they don't want us to know their Thief is going to be played primarily in 3rd person? I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THE PROPAGANDISTS! :mad:

I decided to bail on the subforums until they stopped consisting primarily of posts by people who will throw an entitlement tantrum over any Thief game that isn't made in the dark engine. So basically I'm never going back.
On a side note, it sucks that a fan community can actually make me question whether the Thief series really are my favorite games of all time purely because I don't like my tastes relating in any way to those dorks.

Try to keep in mind this game was announced in 2009, and until about a month ago, we had nothing to go on. Now it's a little bit of information overload. If you're able to ignore and wade through the handful of extremists, there's some good info and discussion going on. Welcome to the internet. :p

This already happened once - they were promising a worthy sequel to the best game ever and that the pc version would be the definitive version, and released a corridor crawl that was a bad console port and had more flaws than any other game ever released on any platform.
