You need to go down to the crypt again and find your way up from there. The door to the Death talisman should now be open.

I really enjoyed this new experience!!!!

Great gameplay, atmosphere and originality. Only problem being too short and limited but I guess it has more to do with contest than anything. Could have had some more adventure elements and city sections where one could terrorize good citizens as a undead do no gooder - one can dream. Perhaps Haunty von Joinus will have future adventures with his zombie friends?

I think this contest should be renamed TNS (Thief Non-Stealth). Every mission I played so far seems to require confrontation, and you can't stealth your way through.
I keep trying to knock these guys out quietly with my hammer - but it always turns into a h2h fight, and everybody else comes running and I die - of course.
There are so many of the enemy, I can't avoid them. There's no light gem - does that mean they can't see me? Sometimes it seems like they can't, but when I step into an obviously lit place they clearly can. So it's a guess whether or not you're hidden?
This isn't meant as a complaint - just frustrated that I may not be able to play a mission that looks so great. Any advice for me on this?

Quoted from the mission text:
Quote:
You are a haunt. You can run faster with your hammer drawn, so don't tuck it away. Being a haunt, you don't have an inventory; therefore all the items that appeared as junk before might play a more important role in this mission. Finally, you don't have the hiding skills of Garrett. There is no light gem. You can still hide in the shadows, but not as effectively as Garrett does.
If you bump into the enemy you will alert them. Try to execute the overhead swing cleanly, without touching the enemy.
Use the haunting feature (cycle your inventory) to your advantage. Using it when enemies are close to you haunts them and makes them your allies. Run around and get a lot of mechanists to follow you, then haunt them in one go. This way you will have a full army at your disposal.
And of course pick up the souls to gain more life.
I have finished the mission on expert without ever having to resort to a h2h combat.
I hope this will help you enjoy the mission!

Wow! I never knew I could haunt more than one AI with each haunting charge. That might make things go better. I'll have to experiment with it and see if I can get it to work for me.
And are you saying I should be able to either knock them out or kill them quietly using one clean overhead swing from behind? That would be great if I can get it to work.
I really would like to finish all of the missions in this contest. This fm really hits me where I'm weak, though. I'm not fast on my feet or good with the mouse. When I run away, I'm bound to end up in a dead end or falling off a cliff or smacking into another enemy.
My folks didn't nickname me "Calamity Jeanne" for nothing.

Haunt Enemies is like dropping a flashbomb, not throwing one as I had thought (and been confused by it's lack of effect). too bad it can't turn archers/priests into Haunts with ranged attacks as well :sly:
I've gotten three talismans (behind a fan, past a Watcher, and on the roof in a shed); I can see the last one in a courtyard that I can't get to. hints please?
well, I got into the courtyard by putting crates down over the puddle, then jumping the rest of the way but now I can't get into the cathedral; the doors are closed, and even the crypt door by the Watchers is unfrobbable. the ladder in the mausoleum doesn't even exist anymore. hints please?

Enter the crypt from outside, and from there find your way to the cathedral.

I was about to be upset with you for not reading my request, then realized I should check again to be sure I was really stuck - turns out I had been trying to get into the crypt through the wrong mausoleum! :laff::sweat:

Thank you Haplo for the little gift - I'm looking forward to giving it another whack, but please don't be disappointed if there is a delay of a day or so while I work a bit more on Nightshifter's mission.
(Nightshifter ... are you checking up on me? Er, I mean ... reading this?)
