Ah. That explains why I wasn't understanding. :D The one I quoted is the one I wrote while testing the mission. It was released with the mission, iirc, but it's also at (http://thiefmissions.com/lootlists/ComplicatedCargo.html) thiefmissions.

I climbed a rope and was able to frob the jar thru the banner, but cannot open the chest thru the banner. I hear the clicking of the locked chest when I frob it. Is there still anyone interested in 2016 in helping me?

If it's the Hammerite banner hanging at the bottom of some stairs, it opens with your sword (or BJ). One slash should do it.

If you look at the walkthrough, there are two screenshots of banners that open. On page one, the banner is opened via a torch lever located in a nearby utility room. Is it THAT one?

No. It is the one where you have to stand on top of the door and slash at it with your sword.

Dropped off the safe (cargo 4) but cannot seem to find a way north & west from the bank

UPDATE: Finally Finished! Secrets 8 out of 9 $3169 Loot. Close enough for jazz. This is one I will play again! Thanx for your help Ricebug.

I've a problem. Got cargo nr. 1 standing now in front of the next one (2) but it doesn't highlight.

Any suggestions?

Gloria, are you sure that you're at the right spot?
The crate of tools is located here:
In the basement of the Dayport appartments (the place with the two burglars in the original LotP) there is a crate of tools placed in front of a wooden pillar.

I'm not sure now. I looked at a picture in Ricebug's walkthrough for cargo 2. That's where I am now. But that's not the place with the two burglars. I'll check it out again. Thanks for the answer.

Nope. at that spot isn't a wooden pillar. I'm at the spot where the elevator is. There's a crate placed for a wooden beam. But is doesn't highlight.
