Then I´ll take you up on your kind offer to help
I thought maybe that the error is caused because I installed the FM with 1.27b patch and deinstalled it with 1.27c patch. So I downgraded to 1.27b patch and installed and deinstalled the whole thing again. Didn´t work.
With "manually clean up your Thief 2 directory" you mean what exactly? Do I have to deinstall and install the whole game again or just delete some files? If yes which exactly?

If the FM failed to uninstall, one or several of the following folders might still be present in your Thief 2 directory:
books
fam
intrface (without "e", not a typo)
mesh
obj
snd
strings
Removing those should solve the problem.

Hmm it doesnt fail to uninstall though. I uninstall it in the fm selector and remove the .zip from the directory in which my fanmissions lay. The uninstall and removing it works just fine (I uninstall it without removing the saves. Like always). But the start screen is still there, no matter what FM I play
Should I still go and delete the files you mentioned above?
intruder on 15/7/2020 at 14:17
If they are still present: yes.
Those folders should not be there if no FM is currently installed.

Wait, so I´d have to deinstall all FMs? Well, I´m not going to do that, cause I have at least 40 fanmissions installed for replaying purposes :') is there no other way to get rid of this bug? :erg:

Now wait a minute.:weird:
The folders which intruder mentioned are usually only present in the Thief 2 game folder if the player uses the ancient DarkLoader to play the mission. On the other hand, these folders should not appear if any other loader (especially FMSel, NewDarkLoader or AngelLoader) was used.
There is no need to uninstall all FMs, as far as I can tell. There also should not ever be a need at all to delete any FM's zip file. intruder most likely just meant that it would be necessary to delete some specific folders like intrface, books etc. if these folders are present in Thief 2's folder.
So, let us begin with this question: Is any of the folders intruder listed (intrface, books, ...) present in the Thief 2 main folder, yes or no?

Thanks baeuchlein, the answer to your question is: no! :)
books
fam
intrface (without "e", not a typo)
mesh
obj
snd
strings
^none of these are in my thief 2 main folder.
What now?

We will have to hunt the remains of that mission down. Look into a folder called "FMs", located in the Thief 2 game folder. Is there another folder inside the FMs folder, and is this other one called "ComplicatedCargo"?
Samantha1 on 18/7/2020 at 20:52
No, there is no such file, everything is deleted including the saves.
What now?

I have tried to reproduce your problem by installing T2Fix v1.27b on a NewDark installation made with T2Fix v1.27a. Then I started NewDark, and in FMSel installed/played "Complicated Cargo". I did not uninstall the mission in FMSel. After that, I used T2Fix v1.27c to update the game further. Despite that, the "Complicated Cargo" intro screen (with the strange flying "balloon ship" and the "Firefly" music) was only displayed when I played "Complicated Cargo". If I played any other mission, either the title screen for that mission (if it used a custom title screen) or the standard screen from "Thief 2" was displayed. Thus, I am so far unable to reproduce your problem.
We can try something else to see whether the missions present on your hard disk or the NewDark installation contain the problem. First, make sure that "Complicated Cargo" is not installed in FMSel. "Installed" here means: Ready to play with FMSel. "Not installed" is displayed with a colored icon on the left end of the "Complicated Cargo" line in the FMSel menu. If, however, the icon is grey in color, in contrast to other icons, then the mission is still installed in FMSel. This is not the same as having the mission "installed" on the hard disk by just downloading a zip file and placing it in the folder for T2 NewDark missions.
Once you are sure that "Complicated Cargo" is not installed in FMsel anymore, move the zip files for "Complicated Cargo" (the mission file and the savegames file) out of the folder where you keep your missions, and into some other folder not related to NewDark. Then, check again whether other missions still display the "Complicated Cargo" start screen or something else.
If the "Complicated Cargo" screen is still being displayed at the beginning of other missions, then the NewDark installation seems to be damaged somehow. If, however, the other missions now have the correct starting screen, then the problem is somehow connected to the zip file for the "Complicated Cargo" mission.:weird: Would be weird, but something weird most likely has happened with your Thief 2 installation or the mission.
