So I reinstalled Gold. I did literally everything that was listed in the tech FAQ - the movies were still fucked up. I had to alt-tab and watch the movies on YT which sucked majorly. Also fuck you Ramirez where is the ninth pickpocket?
Anyway...
Long long time ago, before Al Gore invented global warming, gaming mags had stuff like cover CDs/DVDs with demos, patches, trailers and whatnot. Occasionally, at least here in pollackistan, they had full versions of old games. And once a certain magazine had a full version of Thief: TDP, which I acquired completely legally and not by snatching it from my buddy's house or anything.
ANYWAY.
What I have is "XP compatible" version of TDP, which has fully functional movies. No crashes, no video suddenly stopping and audio still going, lifetime guarantee. The catch is - they come with polish hardsubs in form of a little black bar at the bottom((

- If someone would wish it, I could upload the movies somewhere, for those like me who didn't get the movies to work no matter what they tried. I also know for a fact there are poles here crazy enough to think translations are a good thing. Remember it's TDP, not Gold, and it's a pretty big archive(250MB).
- Rest of you can wonder at how polacks made the movies work and why couldn't you do the same with originals. They're same format, about 20% smaller and compressed with Indeo 5. I know fuck all about video compression so I have no idea how relevant this info is. They're also not streamed, whatever that means.
