Nice spam!(I love your automatic no space to start a sentence)What does this have to do with Thief?
Damn, do I have to go into details? I've barely had any sleep...
I'm saying, that if this device is as good as the demonstration videos show, then how well do you guys think think this'd translate for thief?
...
As in controlling the freelook vision and leaning around corners!

I'm glad to see this kind of tech made commercially.
Albert on 11/3/2010 at 04:15
They projected it initially at $300, so I'm betting the demand went high enough that the price lowered naturally through stock-and-demand.
In actuality, it simply senses pulses (blood veins dilating), so the name Neuron is misleading. I swear, I thought this was neat, but I've had a little rest to realize a little better. You know all hope is lost when even I'm fazed.
Still, I was imagining it would be a cool way to look around in thief.
That, and its price tag is something that someone could ask for it for Christmas or something.

Ok, I just got my Neural Impulse Activator by OCZ delivered to the farm today.

http://www.ocztechnology.com/images/thumbs290x290/NIA_headband_2.jpgMan, I've wanted one of these babies since I first came across mind/computer interfaces in Craig Thomas' Firefox god knows how long ago. (must have been 25 years ago?)
I've been on retreat for 4 years till 9 months ago and didn't know that tech had come on so, that this stuff was commercially available. My girlfriend is a Speech/Language Communication specialist and they have some stuff like this but it's £#000s.
I got it on ebay, new, for £55, (Well £62 including delivery). My first ever ebay auction, I've been away as I said, I've done some buy it now, dilly dallying but this was my first blood pumping, to the wire, ninja bid that got it in the dying seconds ebay transaction. :D
Anyway, so far, very nice packaging, nice magnets in a shiny white box that give a a hint of style, with the kit being swaddled in a piece of thick, funky high density foam.
I'm not plugging in tonight, too knacked after another day concreting and a bit nervous to tell the truth.
Looks like months of work to train it for the true subtlety needed for a game like Thief...

:eek:And....
....it works ?
Namdrol on 18/3/2010 at 07:53
Amazingly YES!!!!
But I can barely control anything yet except in the coarsest way. That's the major drawback to this, it's not like a mouse or keyboard that's instantly usable, it needs a lot of training to work.
