Why doesn't Garrett just tape some moss to the bottom of his shoes?
T-Smith on 8/2/2006 at 22:03
... because like the pocket, tape hasn't been invented in the Thief world :p?

Also, why doesn't Garrett carry a shadow around with him?

I think the most valid question should be this...when Garrett has had a particularly successful session and has aquired lots of loot, how come none of it ever clinks together and makes a noise and also considering the size of the combined loot where exactly does he store it??

I wander what shoes Garret is supposed to wear? cotton? to make as little sound as possible?
ganac on 8/2/2006 at 23:22

The fences only pay a fraction of the worth and also charge a fortune in fees and taxes such as the item cleaning fee and anonymity fee. The Baron also charges a pavement tax, burrick cleanup tax, guard uniform tax, even an air tax. So after a night of looting $5000 real value, Garrett walks away with $259.36.
His bag has an permanent tear in reality to his home. All items dropped in go to his current hideout, compliments of the eye from when he was in posession of it.

Jezuz, if a Thief of rare and extravagant things could barely make ends meet, how would the commoners ever get by?
Maybe the Baron levies a Thief Tax: Each time you mug someone, you pay the tax.

So would the problem be solved if Garrett were to rob the tax collector?

I don't think so. I mean even Capone wouldn't mess with the IRS. Or he did but failed and got put away.
