"BRING OUT YER DEAD! BRING OUT YER DEAD!"
. . man, you should've had one of those guys walking through the streets. . then you could loot the dead bodies when he wasn't looking . .er. . .um. .
Well, I think it would have been cool ..
That would indeed be funny. Mostly because of Monty Python but also because that happened in real life too.

That "Bring out yer dead" did happen in Thief... In the Old Quarter. Maybe the townsfolk got bad kicks about it. As for the loot-carrying: Gold'n'gems may be heavy, but Garrett doesn't need to carry a bazooka or two like in many other games. Or he has just made a great deal of workout. Ever played Monkey Island 2? "Ok, doggy, you're coming with me."

This reminded me of Discworld 2's "Bring out your living-dead!" parody.
Not that we need any of that stuff anymore...

I wander what shoes Garret is supposed to wear? cotton? to make as little sound as possible?
in the dark age (tutorial) you are told you have boots so you must thread lightly. Apparently garret's feet really stink since he hasen't change them since joining the keeper order :cheeky:

how come garett gets a lot of loot, but is always weeks behind on rent?
He must spend it on Booze & babe's on the weekends. He's always broke!!! :cheeky:

You know you play too much Thief when:
1.You wonder why Garrett can't get some slippers
2.You try and steal stuff lying around in Hitman 2
3.You call your barman "tapster"
4.You only go out in the dark for some reason
5.You live in some kind of bizarre pseudo-medieval world

I did not know that the Discworld universe refers to undead entities! Does the game contain zombies?

Another possible direction Thief could've been taken: Boots that are quiet in and of themsleves, but squeak on tile (especially after walking through water), cause wooden floors and stairs to creak (implemented in FM's already, that I know of), crunch on gritty surfaces that just haven't been swept (especially near doors that go outside), make squishy sounds for ten minutes after getting them wet, and otherwise reduce Garrett's footfalls to the loud thumping of his weight on the floor unless Garrett moves at less than a walking pace. That way, the Master Thief is wearing appropriately stealthy footwear, but real world circumstances hinder or render them less than exceptional.
There are a couple of people that could make it happen. :p
Don't know where they are, who they are, or if they're even up to the task, but I thought I'd throw this out there and see if one of them wants to tackle it. :cheeky:

I think the most valid question should be this...when Garrett has had a particularly successful session and has aquired lots of loot, how come none of it ever clinks together and makes a noise and also considering the size of the combined loot where exactly does he store it??
