Hello there,
back in the fall when I finished Thief:TDP and gave my mini-review of it on here, I mentioned various things regarding the game but was vlown away by how immersive the briefings/cutscenes were and how psyched they got me for the next level.
This topic has probably come in the past, I'm sure, but of all the great things about the game, the movies are what I'll have fondest memories of.
So.......what was your favourite briefing/cutscene from The Dark Project and why?

BTW, "vlown" means "blown" in my country (lol).
My favourite was the briefing for level 10 (Escape!):
Knowing what had happened in the previous cutscene and how dark and ominous everything was, from the simplistic doomsday music playing in the backround to the Keeper's weighty call to action for Garrett to the disturbing animal noises playing at the end, and then being left there by the Keepers. That psyched me up so much for the rest of the game that I think I spent a good week or so just playing the briefing before playing the level. In the end, the monsters (and to an extent the level itself) turned out to be disappointing. The throbbing lights and low-pitched backwards-voice were the only saving graces.
I would have to say the "Revelation" cutscene after RTTC. Used to freak me out so much I could barely watch the eye ripping bit. Still an awesomely cool video.

Have to agree with nicked here. Saying it isn't my favourite cutscene would be a lie, since it's stuck in my memory ever since I watched it for the first time as a child (I was scared half to death).

I prefer the last cutscene, because it has better music and no incomprehensible paganspeak. :eww:
My favorite TDP briefings:
Visuals:
1. Lord Bafford's Manor
Has a nice image of a carriage in the streets and one of lord Bafford.
2. Cragscleft Prison
I like the way the 'camera' moves over the mountain + a flying skull. ;)
3. The Haunted Cathedral
Mighty march of the zombies.
Audio:
1. The Sword
2. Down In The Bonehoard
3. Return To The Cathedral
Some strange tunes that make sure you won't be feeling too comfortable about the coming mission.

I liked the backwards-loop effect of the music for The Sword, and the creepy breathing at the end of the Bonehoard briefing. Return to the Cathedral's synth melody reminded me of an epic "call to arms" feeling that I got from watching action movies and such.
One can argue that the beat-oriented musical moments (for example, the "Assassins" briefing) and some of the synth riffs detach you from the medieval setting, but I assume the creators of the game intended for the world to be a hybrid of present day and middle age, with some fantasy thrown in.

I love the electronic music. It seems like it would be out of place, but I guess it's remeniscent of the humming and beats of all the loud machinery in the Thief world. Dunno why but it just weirdly fits.
I'd have to agree about the Bonehoard briefing actually. The distant squeals and whoops playing over the cave drawings is really atmospheric. Gives the impression that the bonehoard has been around for thousands of years, built over and built over again and again.
