The same voice actor, Nate Wells, did the Training Keeper (labeled as just "Keepers" in the credits) and Artemus, and IIRC he believed he was the same guy in a post he posted somewhere. What you'd want to do to confirm it maybe is find that post.

Thanks, demagogue, I'll do that.

wow, great work!...it all seems so shadowy and silent...just right.
I did not get one whiff of an impression of Garrett in his hob-nailed boots giving it "Thlock Thlock Thlock" on the floors either...YES! this can be done..But I would like to see Real life over animated, the effects you can have these days are so clever..maybe even stephen could still do it, even stephen as an Older garrett recalling his adventures in (real life)...played by another lithe and whippy male(partly animated). There is such scope:thumb:
Indeed. In fact, I'm going to propose to the director that Stephen Russell's voice be dubbed over whichever actor plays Garrett (and the Throne-Room Guard of course). There is extremely little inter-character dialogue on Garrett's part (most of it is Garrett's self-narrated voice-over), and when his dialogue does happen, we're often seeing him from the rear or side in his hooded cloak - or as a silhouetted figure whose face is darkened and unseen - so this could definitely be done. In fact, in certain scenes, Russell himself could even play as Garrett since his cloak would hide mostly everything unless looking at his face head-on.

That summary is tantalizing. Have you considered letting others read the whole thing?

Thanks much, demagogue. I'm now leaning strongly toward changing Mayar to Artemus. I just hope Mr. Wells wasn't mistaken and is going on some concrete info us players never had access to. After all, though he did the voices for Garrett's mentor, Keeper Nate, and Keeper Artemus, all of their voices were delivered in different tones, which is what led me to believe they were separate in the first place.

I'm going to hold off on that until after I've discussed things with the director. A lot of fine-tuning still needs to be done, and various things could change. Plus it's a big chore to format all the text from my screenwriting program to a forum post. It took me an hour to properly format those 12 pages here!

The first section sounds great. :thumb: No matter if it will work in a movie, this seems well-executed. For my personal taste there are maybe a little (!) too many artistic (cartwheel, despite the great reference to what Mayar says, and the last thing in Bafford's) and fantasy elements (blocking the portal with the Talismans, if I were you I'd just drop the portal thing) elements. They wouldn't hurt the movie as a Thief movie I guess, but they seem too similar to things in other films as that I would like it here. I always thought Thief was different – for instance in being less interested in this general super hero can-do-everything-perfectly element of ordinary movies.

I was waiting for the bear pits conversation in Bafford's :D . But that might be too humorous so near to the beginning.

There could at least be an homage ... like a shot of him walking in front of the bear pits near the start, with the bears fighting in the background and the cheering, but still a moody and sobering atmosphere with him walking past all serious.

Your point about Garrett being vulnerable and imperfect is well taken. I did make an effort to have him make a few slip-ups during his missions rather than perfect-ghost the whole way through. For instance, in Constantine's mansion, he's just about to slip away unnoticed with the sword when one of the guards catches sight of the end of his rope being pulled up, and alerts all the other guards, calling out "THIIIIEF!" The whole job goes downhill from there as the guards give chase and he has to think on his feet to escape. There are several moments when things do not go exactly according to plan.

True, although that would mean taking some time away from one of the other scenes somewhere. Also, I don't think the bear pits would be anywhere near Bafford's manor. This is one example of something I really liked from the game but had to cut for (hopefully) obvious reasons. In fact, my favorite mission from TDP was "Assassins!" and I had to remove that entirely because (other than the fact that there's no room for it) it just isn't all that integral to the plot.
