I'd like to see something similar, but not a Thief game as such. Something that tries to invoke the same atmosphere (an MP3 player should be able to do decent sound, at least with earphones on), though maybe with different gameplay.

wow, I didn't know there was a Thief DS rendition for mobile phones.
That's excellent.
If nothing else, I'd say make this game better and send that out to the iphone.

I would have played it, but it was never available for me phone at the time. even if it was kind of cheesy looking, sometimes you just need to sneak around and hit people

I was really hoping to form a team, but it doesn't look like enough people are interested. Oh well...worth a shot I guess

Everyone's locked into heavy projects.

I believe you underestimate the graphics power of the platform my friend.
Ah?...Well, I guess I was wrong then...
But understand, dear taffer William! I'm always quite 'hostile' to new Thief adaptations, since T3 and the so called T4 project...
William The Taffer on 13/12/2009 at 04:45
Well, yes I completely understand being hostile toward other studio's adaptations of the Thief we all know and love. After all our worst nightmare is having a new studio release "their take" (ie Thief 3 & Thi4f) on what was already perfected by Looking Glass Studios (R.I.P.), I know that's the reason why this thread wasn't received as well as I had hoped, I personally was appalled at what was released as "Thief3".
However, I really think you guys are missing a huge point, let me pose my argument in the form of a question:
Are you hostile toward The Dark Mod? Or what about Thievery?
No? And why not?
Because they're FAN MADE,
they are adaptations of the Thief universe we know and love, made by FANS that know and love the game!! :thumb:
I could understand not wanting a big publisher remaking the game for the iPhone, but I'm coming to the fan community to ask those who do it best to bring what we know and love to a new engine ourselves! The Dark Mod team did it on the Doom 3 engine, Thievery UT is based on Unreal engine, so why not also use the Unity engine?
This is the only genre that remains more or less untouched by the grubby hands of retarded teen "fart app developers"
Who wouldn't have loved to have seen Thief 3 created and released solely by the community? Let's do it the right way.... before some other company releases another bad cellphone knockoff.

Heh. Actually people have been hostile towards the Dark Mod, but not enough to stop the project, and not enough to influence those who are eager to jump on it.
Anything that is not just like the Dark Engine games on a PC gets a backlash. Accepting that, and the fact that no endeavor is without opposition, do it anyway, and do it for yourselves.
By the way, welcome back, even if it's not all warm in here. Thief 4 is bringing out a lot of hidden biases.
