Wow, that's cool as shit. Let's see them do THAT with T4Wii!

That looks quite amazing indeed, very interesting. :)

Now, I know this is a rather early idea, and something that won't be achieved for a while, but I want your guys opinion on what features should be added to a Wii port.
How in the taffing hell do you propose that Thief could be ported to the Wii, EVER? There's no source code available, remember?
Yandros on 4/9/2009 at 02:15
I assume he means T4.

Oh ewww, gross.

Augh! I forgot your all pessimists. I'm speaking of an OPDE port, of course.
Also, I recently got a wii fit. I wonder how that could translate for a thief game. :D

Since EM has the goal of creating "Next-generation games for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC consoles, and for the Wii," you might see it.

Put your wiimote on the ground and you placed a mine! :laff:
in the Ghostbusters game, you press the trigger on the movement chuck and swing it like you're pitching a bowling ball to lay down the ghost trap. same idea.
I actually exclaimed "holy crap!" loud enough for my wife to come investigate. that is seriously amazing! I'm sure something similar could be done with the balance board for leaning (if not crouching as well, I've never used it.)

It may sound counter-intuitive but I've always found the wii-remote significantly lessens immersion, mainly because you're having to think about your own movements in the real world instead of just concentrating purely on the world created onscreen.
I've only played a few Wii games, and was put off by the symbolic movement/actual movement dissimilarity as well. from what I've heard, the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Remote#Wii_MotionPlus) new controller plug-ins make it better. this is still a pretty cool idea, and if adapted for PC it would add a whole new level of immersion.
now, Microsoft has something even more impressive in the works, but I have no idea if it will be ported to the PC or not. it's called (
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/projectnatal/) Project Natal, and has all kinds of motion-sensing and voice-recognition software. As related to Thief4, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Natal) wikipedia reports that "As of September 2009, publishers actively working on games for Project Natal account for over 70 percent of third-party software sales for the current generation of video game consoles." I would love to see full support for Thief4 on this thing, including sword-play, archery, inventory management (by hand-motion scrolling or saying the item desired), jumping/mantling, and leaning/crouching. movement might need a controller, but probably only in the left hand to nudge the analog stick. it might be the kind of thing to convert us all from PC to console *cries for the poor PC*
