Does anyone know why thief-thecircle.com keeps disappearing and then re-appearing?
Is it gone for good this time? ???

Whatever is still there, is accessible via the (
http://thief.ttlg.mobi/) Thief logo at the very top of the forum (between TTLG and Bioshock). As far as I know, that access doesn't appear/disappear all the time.

The site is up, but their DNS has for a long time failed to map the domain name to the actual web server. If you have the IP address you can still access the home page and get to things. I can't remember what it is, but a search here would probably find it. I can't believe no one with the access has ever bothered to look into this and get it fixed.

For serious. Thief-TheCircle has for over a decade been a huge bastion of all things Thief. It's kind of symbolic that way. I hope someone with access gets it working again soon.

It's not actually down to TTLG (no access) and several attempts have been made to try and get it fixed. We keep trying.

Argh! It seems all the links on the main page (accessed by the link nickie posted) need to be updated to the mobi address!
Even google search has a hard time finding The Keeper's Chapel walkthrough.
I'm sorry to say, I don't understand the DNS problem referred to here... if the IP address has changed, then it's not "thief-thecircle.com" anymore, so just update the links. Right?

That's the domain name. The IP address is the numeric address pointing to the web server where the site actually exists. The problem is that the mapping between the domain name and that numeric address is broken, so entering thief-thecircle.com in your browser goes nowhere because it can't find the webpage files.

Back it up. Back it all up.

I don't know a lot about web stuff, but if it's a recurring DNS issue, the most solid workaround until the DNS problem gets solved would be to map the address locally in the hosts file, no?
