Yes, you are. I think you might also have been in the bedroom already, for it's not hidden in any way. I think you have to turn left shortly after entering the old compound to reach the area where this room is. You can recognize that room by a large fireplace opposite the entrance. You have to search this room very thoroughly to find something hidden. To be more precise, you have to
have a close look on that fireplace. And if you still don't find anything, do the following:
Step inside the fireplace and check the corners carefully. A switch waits in one of them. It opens a secret door in the fireplace, and by stepping through it, you will arrive at some chests. One of them contains the key to Orodruin, which is what you're really looking for there.

Can someone tell me where I can find a silver chunk? The most obvious places like the cabinet of the director of exhibition or mine obviously don't have any silver.

I absolutely love this FM! That´s thief exactly how I enjoy it! :D
Did anyone find out what the bonus objectives in the 2. mission are? I saw here a post from nightshifter mentioning sth. about it, but I couldnt find it. The bonus objectives in mission 1 were easy to find (mimis ring, the cds, the diary on the desk of the mentalist).
And I had to laugh so much at the end, cause no matter what decision you make.. both suck! :cheeky: I hope that keeper at least rewarded garrett abit. But probably not :D
Now I have to play "the librarian", unfortunately I played the sequel before the prequel cause I was too late in reading about the prequel:angel:

I wanted to replay this mission in "expert" mode after all these years, but the mission is not working properly , in the beginning the keeper gesticulates, but no words come out, and the elevator buttons are not working, is it a conflict with newdark 1.27?

I have played the beginning of the mission with a german and an english Thief 2 NewDark made with T2Fix v1.27d. I tried FMSel, NewDarkLoader v1.6.1, AngelLoader v1.4.4, and even ancient DarkLoader v4.3.1 beta1. Everything's normal - the keeper talks audibly and the elevator comes down when using the proper button. What Thief 2 NewDark version did you use, and how was it "made" (T2Fix, ND install by hand, ...)?
Do other missions work like they should?

I have installed the last newdark 1.27 since last year and i have been playing many thief 2 fan missions without problems. I have no idea what could be causing all these malfunctions to this mission.
