Hi there taffers! :-D
I'd like to know if anybody tried to launch Thief2 under some Linux Distros like Ubuntu.
I've seen the Db Cedega page, but i have not found any more information then a screenshot.
It's possible to use Thief2 under Wine?
How it works with Ubuntu?
I think that this opportunity it's very useful for a lot of people. I don't want to remain with XP only to use my lovely Thief2!:tsktsk:
One more question: any rumors about the Darkmod compatibility with Linux ?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Someone will correct me etc, Thief will only work under wine if it supports DirectX 8 or above.

I tried Thief2 with Wine (typing "Wine Thief2.exe" under the shell, Wine is perfectly installed because i use it for antoher Windows program) but nothing has happened. Maybe i have to re-install it, but can't find the original Cds :-(
Anyone use it with Cedega?
It works?

Well, Doom 3 runs under Mac, Linux and Windows. Some things we've added will require going back and working out some OS specific solutions, but aside from that...Dark Mod should be able to run under linux and mac.

Actually I'm not so sure about Mac compatibility. The Mac version of Doom 3 doesn't include the tools/SDK because it wasn't ported over, and a rep from Aspyr (the porting company) said that having this was required to run mods. I don't know much about it but I would be thrilled to discover that this is wrong and that the Dark Mod will be compatible with the Mac version of Doom 3.
Edit: It appears my information is woefully out of date, because a quick google showed that the Mac SDK has been released. Awesome, I know what version I'll be purchasing!

IMHO it's far more important to support an open OS like Linux, than OSX.
My 2 cents.

It's there any release date time in the *Horizon*?
I think your project it's very interesting also for gaining attention about Linux and open developing about the DarkMod. It can be the first High quality single player FPS avaible for Linux, it can be very popular in the OSS world (and maybe the also the proprietary engine will be opened by ID when you finish) .
I think you can put it in evidence in the project features, you can have more attention, sponsors, etc etc
