There are several threads discussing Stephen Russell himself, replete with pictures. He's also been cast in his first feature film, recently. It's called "Chatham". There's a thread on that, too. As far as I know, no one's ever expressed disappointment AFTER seeing what he looks like (except one picture of scary stage make-up). He's a co-founder of the Wellfleet Harbor Actors' Theatre (WHAT), so most of the pictures available are of him on stage and promotional shots.

Welcome Tiptoe! Bad luck about the motion sickness thing. :( Wait! Just had an idea!!! Can't you take dramamine or something like that so that you could get an idea of what TDP & TMA are like? I know it sounds drastic, but you haven't truly experienced Thief until you play T1 & T2. Imho.

A big thumbs up to that JT:thumb: And now on a lighter note, I think maybe the reason that so many of the fairer sex like Deadly Shadows is because they get to see Garrett from behind, as well as hearing what some around here have called "a sexy voice".:cheeky:
Thoughts fellow Taffers?:)
Second the thumbs up to jtr. And though I've had a crush on Garrett at one time or another, for me it's the experience of playing Thief as a whole that's got me hooked. Behinds notwithstanding, I've yet to play another game that intrigues and addicts me as the Thief games have done. :cheeky:

That's not a bad idea, I wonder if it would work? I'm feeding my Thief addiction at the moment by playing through the T3 fan missions, but I'd love to play the first two games as well. The only problem is finding them, cause they're not in stores anymore :tsktsk:.
Ah well, thank Heavens for Ebay :cheeky:.

Poor 'girl' thankyou very much :cheeky:. But I'm confused, have I done something wrong? I just wanted to say hello and tell you how much I loved your game.
Have I unknowingly broken a forum rule? Many apologies if I have. Please tell me if I've done something wrong so I don't do it again .
ah, just got back to this. and, okay, poor girl. :p welcome aboard. it's not as much of a sausage festival here as some other fandoms.
no, don't mind us. as has been said before, we're the nice folks. but there are some people out there (some of the dark mod team, for example) who froth at the mouth and behave nearly as bad as the average fallout fan at the mention of thief 3.
i myself love the game. it's not as good as thief 1 or 2, but it's still damned good, and it's a far sight better than splinter cell.
it's a shame that first person games make you puke; but i know others who have that same problem. try taking some medicine.
as for getting the games, i would recommend getting thief gold over the dark project, for three reasons: one, because you get a good 6-7 hours extra content (thieves' guild alone takes forever); two, you can play thief gold FMs AND regular thief FMs; three, various bugfixes and map updates.
unfortunately TG is rare, but because i am awesome i not only got a legitimate copy, but it also comes in the original trapezoidal box with manual.

Yes, I've been browsing the forums for a couple of days now and I see what you mean . I gotta say, I'm kind of stunned, I wasn't expecting any sort of negative reaction to Thief3 at all.
Anyway, I'm glad you told me about the Dark Mod team, cause I was going to join their site and politely request (ie..shamelessly beg) that they consider adding a third person option for poor souls like me who can't handle first person games. But if they feel that way about Thief3 then it might not be such a good idea.
Thanks for the tip about Thief Gold, I'll keep an eye out for it :cheeky:.

If you've read through any of the T3 versus T1/T2 threads, then you'll understand why a lot of us taffers didn't like it as much as T1 & T2. Not just because it was so different from the first two Thief games; but because quite a few of us kind of felt a tad cheated/disappointed (putting it mildly here) by certain of those differences. However there are also quite a few TTLG'ers who really loved TDS. It all comes down to personal preferences. Unfortunately, there are those who tend to get almost fanatical about their opinions; but the same is true regarding the differences between TDP & TMA. So there you have it. Don't take any of it personally.
I guess the general consensus is that in order to really appreciate the world of Thief you need to play T1 & T2. Go get some dramamine or somesuch, Tiptoe. The first two games are really worth self-medication (no, jtr; I'm not referring to 'shrooms :p )!
Also; some of the FMs are almost better than the originals, imho. :thumb:
