Then my family has to move, and I being the ever caring son, decided to take my jeep and a truckload of junk to the new house (14 hours away, which was :eww: ) and now, the box with my Thief installation cd's is MIA. (Thief Gold, Metal Age, and Deadly Shadows) The Horror... the horror... Hopefully, soon, I will have either XP or Windows 7 installed and my cd's will show themselves, the bloody sons of tits.
Hm, hm, talk about bad luck. Well, I hope you find them...

Anyways, I found install disc 1 of Thief II. Maybe the 2nd will show up. Why do the packers pack the computer software in more than one box? *Sighs*
Windows 7 works beautifully, however. Major plus there :-D

Not to mention, both Thief 2 and TDS can be bought used for extremely cheap. I bought a backup copy of T2 for $4 on Amazon, and I'm guessing TDS is available for that either there or on Ebay.

I know money is tight for many people these days, but...you can never have too many copies of Thief games. :cheeky:
I personally own three copies TDP, TG, and TMA each. I'm sure some taffers own even more.

Hmm... not a bad idea! I should probably stock up on two copies of Thief Gold and II before that become rare / expensive / impossible to find.
*Amazon and eBay here I come*

Thief Gold is already pretty rare, must have been a limited run. I think I bought my backup copy a few years ago for $45 used on Ebay.

Maybe you guys don't need to buy dozens of original CDs and instead buy 1, but make copies of them and use those for the most part...

But maybe we like to add to the number of units sold to keep sending Eidos the signal-money that Thief sales haven't died. Every purchase is a vote for Thief and a thank you.
But backups should be made, anyway. Like having a spare tire until the next purchase.

Yes, this now sounds really true, wise suggestion!:p

I got it with a magazine for 10 eur or even less (this is gaming on budget guys). In retrospec, buying only one has been a huge error.

This is what happens when you don't pack stuff yourself. People seem to have a special feat for getting lost or damaged only the most unvaluable things.
At least you're half way to your goal! I have spent hours searching with no success. A friend of mine told me that I could have borrowed it to some of my friends but I don't know who, nor I remember when this could have happened.
I have lost hope.
