I hoped for something more elegant, but I'm already watching cutscenes on YT so might as well... :/

Tried ghosting the casino, this is how far I got:
Inline Image:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/Melan/Dromed/Casino.jpgYou can stick to the counter, and while you can't get underneath, edging along
verrrrry slowly doesn't alert the AI beyond level 1 even while they are looking right at you. Unfortunately, at the point where the picture was taken, even an inch more makes the archer go into hunting mode. And let's face it, even if you could do it, it's so far beyond any limits to the suspension of disbelief that you might as well douse a torch and pretend the thugs thought it went out on its own.
Klatremus apparently (

On a side note, is there any way to force the game to just skip this level? I assume Song of the Caverns and Mage Towers aren't so horrid.
In
crfs/strings.crf, there is a file named
missflags.str. This controls the sequence the game goes through the levels, and can be edited as a text file. Thieves Guild is miss_15. Find the line that reads
miss_5_next: "15" and replace "15" with "6". Thief should now go from Assassins to The Sword.

That's more like it. Thanks.
[FauxEdit] Okay, is there such thing as override folder for Thief? Changing the file in the archive does nothing, it reverts back to whatever it was.

Yes, save the modified file in a
\strings folder off your Thief root folder (maintaining the filename, of course). Override folder names should match the name of the CRF file, and you should generally match the subdirectory structure as well, although in this case
missflag.str goes right in the
\strings folder.

Cool, thanks.
