I don't think she cared about rising up and coming to the head of the order. I think all she wanted (besides more glyps of power) was to destroy the one glyph that could stop her. I figure if it was destroyed, she'd go on a rampage and kill the current keepers lest they figure out a different way to stop her.

In the Prophicies:
The One True Keeper = Garrett
Brethren&Betrayer = Gamall
The Evil Ones = Keepers
Dark Age = Predicted age when almost all Keepers will become corruped and follow Gamall steps.
Am I right?

That's exactly right. Of course, the 'Dark Age' is followed by the 'Unwritten Times', the era in which there are no more glyphs, I.E everything after Thief III.

No, its not coming head of the order that was her main priority, it was having total power. The keepers really have total control over the city, so whoever controlls them controls the city. It would be simpler that way then fending off keeper attacks every few days.
Anyways, the point I was trying to get across was that Gamall was like Garrett except she was power hungry, whereas Garrett couldnt care less about power and glyphs.

Just to put my thoughts in, here's my theory:
Due to the events at the end of Thief: Deadly Shadows, Garrett is two things; the One and the Keeper. Keepers formed (maybe?) when the City was young, or even before it was built, to keep balance and protect it from going out of control. Perhaps Garrett, through his skill and experience, has been handed this job as the Keepers were no longer capable of maintaining the balance (as is evident by Gamall, Orland, and the Keeprs as a whole falling to the power of the glyphs as well as ignorance). Garrett neither cares for glyphs, trouble, prophecies, or organizations. All he wants is to be able to ply his trade without some fanatics raving about the Dark Age following him around everywhere. How Garrett is to continually keep the City's balance without immortality, that's difficult to say.
As to the matter of glyphs, and Garrett recieving their powers by becoming the Keeper, why would he need them? If he could defeat the Trickster, Karras, Gamall, and the Keepers, why would he need the powers of the glyphs? His skill already outweighs the abilities they could give him, save for the extreme ones (such as the transmutation glyph and life extension glyph). He's the Keeper because he doesn't need glyphs, not because he has them in his control.
Anyway... that's what I think.

Exactly. He is the one true keeper because he would rather not use glyphs, and thier dangerous power.

Like someone else in this topic mentioned, I believe
Garrett kind of "realized" that being a Keeper is his true calling after all, because he "takes action" (as Omegacron said) in keeping the balance between good and evil, as opposed to the former Keepers, who constantly asks Garrett for help. Garrett himself is of course a good guy, but in my opinion he can't really be categorized as either fully good nor fully evil. Thus he fits in the "One True Keeper" role perfectly.
As has also probably been mentioned, I think Garrett is trying to create a new leauge of Keepers, including ones who "take action", just as he did in the entire Thief series, ever since being recruited by the Keepers in the beginning of TDP. The opening scene repeats itself in TDS, but Garrett is playing another role, and the fact that the little girl sees him and tries to rob him proves she is very much like Garrett was in his youth, i.e, having alot of talent and being one of those people who "act". Therefore I believe he recrutied her.
So T4 = garett vs evil ex-keepers ??
All these questions lead to one thing : SEQUEL !:)

Hmm, they already used the "evil keepers" storyline in Theif 3. If they make another sequel, then I dont think it'll be about keepers. Maybe they'll make it so that things start falling apart, because there were no keepers to keep an eye on them. And Garrett is only one man after all, and training an aprentice at that, so he wouldnt have time to save everything. Besides, if he would WANT to save the organisations that tried to kill him before is a different matter...
...Or was the glyph magic removed from everyone?...
Odd you should say that I wrote a mission outline based loosely on that idea, unfortunately my game development skills are crap
