Alt tabbing is pointless. Chatty bitch should get on IRC if you want to talk.
Widescreen doesn't mean much to me when I hate LCDs, but I see no reason why it shouldn't be a feature- and not the cheapass way like Bioshock did it.
I'm not so sure I want games to not require a CD/DVD. Let's face it, if publishers don't use that, they're going to use something like SecuROM with limited activations.
As for patches, yeah uh good luck with that.

Alt tabbing is never pointless when you're trying to combine working with a little gaming. Either let us window it or alt-tab it.

If you're working you shouldn't be gaming. You should be working.
I mean if we're talking like, a puzzle game or something casual I don't see why not, but what the fuck is the point of playing something like TF2 or whatever when you have work to do?
Matthew on 29/9/2008 at 19:33
Nothing to stop a nice slow sim game doing it though. And I'm sorry that my working habits aren't the same as others, but when I'm doing some extraoffice work at the weekends I work at my own damn pace, thanks.

Alt-tab's a necessity for people who game at work, purely because games don't come with a boss key any more.
That's another feature that needs resurrecting, actually.

Alt tabbing is necessary if you're trying to diagnose a problem, or read a walkthrough, or if you get an important email, etc.

Ah, I was even going to make a thread about it.
Since it's biggest pile of whinefaggotry I ever read. It pissed me off so much that I wanted to write a similiar list, but from developer's perspective.

I'd say it's the other way around. If you're gaming you shouldn't be working. You should be gaming.
If you can game and work/read email/check AIM/whatever at the same time, the game's just shit.

God forbid that people should give their opinion on the internet, after all. Just out of interest, are you in development, Koki?
Also, if I want to peck out a letter or a brief bit by bit and then stop for a few turns of Civ IV/whatever until inspiration strikes again, it's kinda my own choice, thanks very much.

Well, if you name the article "RPS
Demands: 10 Things All PC Games Should Do" then it better be about something really damn important, and not about that you are too lazy to put a DVD in the drive, or too lazy to change the directory path during install(Seriously
what the fuck).

I agree w/deth and koki. That article was whiny as fuck, and I personally don't remember ever needing to alt-tab out of a game in my entire life. If I am playing a game, then that's what I am doing. I don't give a fuck about emails, I'm popping skulls. I am playing a game to forget about work. If it's important, they will call me on the damn phone.
