I've tried some of those apps before but I think something is lost in the transition to a phone's speaker. I may just build a perspex sleeping box and put it under a shower.
Pics please.
The phone speaker is ok for a light rain but a half assed bluetooth speaker helps. Anyway, the part of your brain that loves these sorts of sounds isn't exactly audiophilic. But geeze man, the app is FREE! Take a risk!

Okay, will do. The best place for this was when I was staying at my folk's place in Northern Ireland during the 1st year of my degree. It was an attic room with sloped ceilings and it rains a lot in NI.

The simple act of making a plain cheese sandwich.
Fresh soft bread, butter, cheese.
As Zombieland so elegantly put it...

Fluffy kittens. Puppies with puppy-breath. Smiles, even from strangers. Laughter, especially the contagious kind.

Dear wife and I visited Yellowstone this year and after watching an Attenborough program it reminded me of of a drive we made into the North of the park and hearing wolves howling, made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Definitely a hardwired moment.

I used to love listening to the sound of the furnace starting up when I was a kid. I'd be laying in bed, and I'd hear the motor turn on, followed the crack of the igniter echoing up the vent. It would hiss for a mintue, while I waited with anticipation for the fan to switch on. It would start spinning slowly, then build up to a steady hum. On cold winter nights the furnace would run for about 20 minutes, and I'd always try to fall asleep before it shut off.
My apartment today has radiators along the wall. They sputter and ping and keep the place warm enough, but I miss the days when the furnace lulled me to sleep every night.
