Things we're hardwired to like. - by SlyFoxx

When I was growing up, I would stay the night at my Aunt Charlotte's (RIP) house. The sound of her refrigerator kicking on always was a comfort when I woke from nightmares; it reminded me where I was and that I was safe. Another thing that comforted me while growing up was my Grandma McCall's (RIP) old lava lamp. It was ugly and the lava was this sickly green, but watching it always made me feel good. Nowadays, I don't have these things around me; but, like others in this thread, I enjoy the sound of rain to sleep to.
