Deus Ex: Human Revolution took 4 years and 3 months from announcement (May 2007) to release date (August 2011), and Eidos Montreal did a great job with it (that's not saying I don't have a few complaints).
If I don't hear some news about Thief 4 by August 2013 (announced May 2009 + 4 years 3 months) then, and only then, will I be upset. In fact, if the game is released before August 2013 I will have lowered expectations for the game.
So, until mid 2013, if you have any complaints about the lack of updates or release date, please keep it to yourself. Thanks in advance. :thumb:

For the record, and if you had been paying attention you'd know this - no one is complaining that the game hasn't been released yet. They're complaining that there's been no news on the game in over 3 years. Oh, and also that Eidos has pretty much dropped the ball on establishing any kind of relationship with the Thief community, the same community that's kept the game popular for over 10 years now.
And I had the same complaint with DXHR, as did many others.

To all, my apologies for starting world war 3! The last sentence about the eidos forums was basically an afterthought of my dissatisfaction of no news of this game. So I went there to find out more...I wish I hadn't!
Though I will stand by what I said as far as how they treat people over there.
It was not that the mods deleted everything in sight....they just seemed to ARGUE every POINT that was made negatively about the game! It just got old, quick, so I left.
I was simply not used to mods being so actively involved over there to the point they sounded more like a fanboy than a mod. Members I could understand, but not a mod.
Anyway...back on topic..... maybe someday this game will be in stores. But for now, it simply seems like a joke is being played on by the thief community by Eidos, to me though , it just isn't very funny.

Well if memory serves me correctly, there was a major lull between updates with DXHR as well, and within a year of release they were pretty consistent.
