Or even if there are guards. Would it really hurt to say they've actually decided on a protagonist and they've got 10 other main characters, 25 bit parts and a Bennie instead of a Benny?

I will let GBM take care of you. Hes already warned you twice.
Not sure why that is, as others have said - I'm the reasonable one in this thread who is posting politely.
Still. I'm out. To keep the peace, I will withdraw from this thread.

It is a long time since a thread has needed moderating which is quite lucky as we don't have any visibly active moderators in this forum any more. :)
I'd like to volunteer for the position, if there are no objections.
LOL. :D
I'll leave it at that. I'm heading back to my friendly local...
Any further questions... you know where to find the Taffers' Tavern. See you there.

Not likely. I've already had one rant deleted out of the
rant thread, with an infraction to boot. (ok there was a Squeedos/Nazi analogy made, but given the new censorship policies, I think it was appropriate). Likely won't being going back, and I know there's a boatload of others that feel the same way.

It's a pseudo-rant thread with the piss taken out of it, leaving an impotent collection of benign bemusement at the most. It's a venus flytrap or a game of whack-a-mole.

Yeah, I had enough of it myself and just had my account deleted / disabled or whatever they do with it.
So there is a rumor that the classic Thief games are coming to the Good Old Games or gog.
So I wonder if that's what they ended up doing with the source code MoroseTroll had the former LGS dev hand over to them. Rather than hand the source code to the fan base, they turn it into another way to make money off the series. Go figure. :erg:

Yep if we compare this

http://www.gog.com/)
So if it's true, that means that the fanbase won't be able to have the source code to improve it??? So sad...

And she wonders why we might be a bit hostile towards her when they behave like that over there ?
As far as the code base I would not be surprised at ALL if that is what they did.
Honestly I never believed they lost it in the first place, I certainly would have had a copy of it somewhere. Tape is pretty cheap after all(Relatively speaking) and any company worth a lick should have backup copies of its backup copies. I am certainly paranoid about that and most of the admins I know are the the same way.
Money is always going to be their number one concern. The fan base does not seem to matter to them. Their response's up till now only strengthens that opinion after all.
In a way this is good though we can probably get some enhancements to make it work better on newer machines and hopefully get some new fans in the process. Fresh blood is always good.

Thief on Gog? Cool in some ways, especially if it's FM friendly. I wonder what their method will be for getting it to work with modern hardware. Maybe they'll just use ddfix.

Like I was saying in the previous post. A former LGS developer handed handed the source code over directly to Eidos after MoroseTroll tracked them down. That was 2 years ago. Once they got the code there was no more communication from them...not even a thanks for finding it. So they don't need to use DDFix. With the source code they can patch the game to run on modern equipment. Would have been polite of them to let us know if they had intended to release the code or keep it to use themselves.
