P.S. Is it just me or does Gold version have more levels than non-gold?
If you weren't playing Gold I recommend you get it immediately. If you thought that one part in the Sword was cool, Thief Gold has a nice surprise... The extra missions are all brilliant, too.

I won't clue you in at the moment. Finding how to use your "tools" is one of the fun parts of the game. But be aware that Burricks, Zombies, Ghouls, Spectres and Haunts are killable. You just need to read the notes, scrolls and books (and the manual), and choose the right moment and tool for the job.
I recognize the others, but where are there ghouls?

Don't worry, the Ghouls will find you.

Haha, I have to agree with some of the others how you sounded like one of those FPS people. Me on the other hand, I love all sorts of games, so I'm sort of an oddball when it came to "getting" thief I suppose. I understood the stealthyness, but the whole story and innovation I think is what really drove me in.. Plus, the medieval setting. Thief really made me love the medieval time period, even though it didn't exactly represent true medieval times.
But like I said, I'm a bit of an oddball I suppose: I love FPS', even though I suck to hell at them - that is why I think Yandros' deathmatch idea sounds really neat (I need to play that!) and the Haunt Stadium which became a favorite of mine. I think the thing is, you have to have those little moments of "killing everything in site" as a sort of "fix" if you know what I mean. Then you get back to being stealthy. You want another example of that, take my "Good Vs Bad" fan mission of sorts. hehehehe

Do you mean ghouls as in "apparitions" (as dromed so names them) or ghosts,, and spectres as in Fire Shadows? I found these two terms unfamiliar to me in terms of thief.
I also would recommend thief 2 if you didn't particularly like the cave type outdorsy zombie (and other things) infested maps.:)
