1) My gaming computer is broken
2) It doesn't matter anyway, because I still run XP

What the hell? The demo is out, I've played it about 5 times now and keep finding something new to do, and yet....yet....this thread isn't hopping for some very obviously horrible reason.
You people allergic to fun or something? The hell, people? The hell?
I'm going back in to crash helicopters into stuff.
It's ridiculously fun, but the game seems to lack any objectives whatsoever other than "blow shit up". It's a literal sandbox, and it's
huge, and it's pretty, and it's insane, but for a game like this I need goals and a sense of purpose, dammit. I have the feeling that the full game delivers that, though, so I'm probably complaining about nothing.
The demo also has the cheesiest and most ridiculous voice acting I've heard since Infernal, and to be able to top (bottom?) that game's voice-overs is an achievement ripe for an Ig Nobel award.

I think the demo does provide a mission you can try. If you do enough damage, the PDA pops up and marks a location on the map for you visit, and do...something specific...like pick up documents...I think...I dunno. I was too busy flying a Cessna through flaming hoops to bother with it.
And you're right, the voice acting is truly god awful. Though to me, it almost adds to the experience. Makes it feel like I'm watching a high budget horribly dubbed foreign action flick.

This, though I own Vista, and will be done building my quad-core very soon.
Also, is that 90-day Enterprise Ed. cracked? ;) j/k

UUUUUH WHAT WAIT THE DEMOS OUT WHY DID NOONE TELL ME
EDIT: DOWNLOADIIIIIIIIIING
edit2: ah yes, that was fun. :) The vehicles are more fun to drive than in the first one, although the handling is still a bit wonky. The scenery is surprisingly destructible and the physics are nice. And the controlls are good(at least with a gamepad, didnt try mouse+kb yet) and you really do feel like a badass while playing this.
edit3: I've played the demo 4 times now, thats 2 hours all in all, and I'm starting to feel like I've done all it has to offer. Except for the actual missions that is, haven't touched those yet. The gunplay is incredibly satisfying especially shooting the Desert Eagle, it just feels right. And the grapplinghook is great. At one point I was up on a factory roof having a shootout with a bunch of soldiers on the ground but there was one hiding behind a wall that I couldn't quite hit. No problem, *ZIP* and I'm down on the ground next to him, *BLAM BLAM BLAM* he's dead, *ZIP* I'm back up on the roof. :cheeky: Also, using the grappling hook to climb the mountains in the south of the demo zone is a lot of fun. This certainly the most generous/fun demo I've played since RF Guerilla, or Skate.

have you grappled a upright gas canister just after shooting it yet? cos that is all sorts of awesome. I do find the basejumping not quite as good as the first, you dont seem to get quite as much forward movement when you flatten out. But I can see some nice high mountain outside of the demo zone:cheeky:

i found the demo rather boring and the game actively working against you. the auto-aim-lock-on is mostly responsible for f***king everything up I try to do. Parachuting is bad since I only see my parachute and never where I go, pc controls are even worse with slow turnspeed, delay in inputkeys for weapons and so on. I can see the appeal just like Prototype had appeal in "do shit, kill ppl, destroy stuff" but even with a paper-thin story around it I'm just fed up with open-world "next mission" pop-ups after prototype, saboteur, gt-fucking boring-a4 and all the other clones. It's like a sport game where you don't have a "goal" besides winning the game or just repeating the same match over and over again and if that appeals to you it certainly is good at that. But that format is for me more home to mulitplayer gaming. I'd rather play a round of QuakeLive or Dystopia if I'm up for random violence. I'm also playing AC2 at the moment, another game with this shit concept although this time they managed to hide/dress it up better.

I remember seeing that in a trailer and yeah I tried it but couldn't quite pull it off. So you need to grapple
after having shot it? Got it, will try again. And yeah, I'm also a bit disapointed by the lack of forward momentum you can get while freefalling, guess they had to tone it down for balancing issues or something.
