I found an unlocker for the demo. It unlocks the boundaries and most of the other limitations. I question its legality, but it's out there...

I haven't tried the demo myself as I'd found the first game to get a bit unfocused and tedious after an alarmingly short period of time (and yes, I've come to the conclusion that open worlds may just not be for me, except for Elite). Will I find Just Cause 2 to provide basically more of the same as the first game?

Pretty much, but with better controls.

I remember seeing that in a trailer and yeah I tried it but couldn't quite pull it off. So you need to grapple
after having shot it?
I found that the easiest way to ride the canisters is to attach your grapple to the nozzle at the top so the guy hangs on, then shoot it.

Christ, it reaffirms how out of the gaming scene I am when my brain still gets shock from seeing a demo that's 1Gb in size.
I'll look this up soon.

The specs are ridiculous. Wish I had a 360, I'd be all over it.
I played the first game on PC and Xbox 1, and it was much, much better suited to the latter. Besides, they ported the fucking last-gen version to the PC for some dumb-fuck reason, instead of porting the 360 version. PC users got screwed there. Shame. IIRC Eidos also published Tomb Raider Legend, and the PC version had an option in the video tab for 'next-gen' graphics enable.

My computer is only slightly better than the minimum specs, and it runs fairly nicely for me at 1920x1080. I'm not maxing out 60FPS, but I am averaging a comfortable 30-45 FPS with just about everything bumped up medium-high.
Unless you have some super old machine, you should be able to run it just fine.
