This game is "one of my dreams came true" : a modern amphetaminized blend of Midwinter II & Hunter.
And on top of that it's goddamn gorgeous, smooth and optimized : in game I can switch from the mouse/keyboard combo (while on foot) to my wireless X360 pad (for the driving) seamlessly.
Already pre-ordered on Steam !

I have to give the guy props for a good attempt, but he doesn't come close to my greatest stunt. A stunt that I unfortunately didn't capture on video, and I doubt I could replicate ever again in a million years. You'll just have to believe me here...
There I was, flying around in my stolen Cessna, dragging my sporty little stolen coupe behind me (an everyday occurrence for those of us who took basic courses in FUCKING RAD 101) when I suddenly get an idea: I'm gonna see if I can jump the car off the tether and land flat on the road. So I find a paved flat straightaway, bring the plane low to the ground, hop over to the car, and shoot the plane with my grenade launcher. Now I'm expecting the car to flip out and crush me underneath it as it lands, but to my surprise, it hops once, then continues to drift forward at a good clip while the wreckage of the plane flips about in the air and smacks the top of a gas station as its final destination. 2 seconds later, I'm driving my airborne sports coupe.
The only thing that would've made that stunt even more grand would be if the wreckage of the plane took out the gas station, and it went up as I drove past. Guess you can't have it all.

My computer is only slightly better than the minimum specs, and it runs fairly nicely for me at 1920x1080. I'm not maxing out 60FPS, but I am averaging a comfortable 30-45 FPS with just about everything bumped up medium-high.
Unless you have some super old machine, you should be able to run it just fine.
FTR, I have a Athlon x2 4000(2 GHz) 2 Gigs of RAM, and a Radeon 4670 1GB.
It runs great for me.

The console versions either have a "Make things blurrier" option or the maximum settings are lower than the PC version. Not too surprising though, their GPUs are a couple of years old.
I really need to find money for Win7.

The PC version absolutely destroys the console counterparts. See the following featurette.
N.B. Only the GPU enhanced water is exclusive to Nvidia CUDA. All other enhancements like the ambient occulsion, bokeh filter and soft shadows work on either brand video cards.

Yeah I agree. This game really makes me want to upgrade my card. I had a blast playing the game last night for the first time. I had to pick up the trainer that removes the time limit.

I've certainly been having more fun with the demo than I'd like to admit. It's an instant fix of balls-out explosive jackassery.
Attaching a random guard to a gas tank, shooting the tank, and smirking evilly to yourself as the tank takes off into the distance and slings the guard along with it before blowing up is one of the *smaller* joys to be had. And it all looks oh-so-pretty with them AAs and AFs enabled.
I'm looking forward to the full release. May not be an instant day-one purchase, but I'm pegging this as the most likely candidate for 'game that will almost certainly land up in my Steam folder soon'.
