I'm not ashamed to admit that I haven't pirated a single game since Steam start publishing most games. It really was only ever about ease of access. I don't like owning physical media and for some reason I don't understand, I prefer to download than mail order.

Outstanding season finale. But I'm going to have to go back & reread the books before next season's premiere as I caught myself saying stuff like, 'Dang! I totally forgot that was going to happen ... ', and 'Now who the hell is he/she again?'.
I thought Stannis'
'son' was kind of a one-time deal; forgive me if I've forgotten another piece of the story from the books, but I thought he was created just to kill Renly and then disappear.
I agree on Blackwater and also with Duckeh; I was disappointed about the
lack of prophecy for Danny.
Well, it wasn't really a one time thing:
she did have a second one when they killed Robbert's bastard in Storm's End. Also, I'm not if I like the current portrayal of Dany in the TV series: when she starts going on about how she's going to get her throne back in Westeros and how her people want her, she kind of reminds me of Viserys.

Well, madness
does run in the Targaryen family. Must have been all the inbreeding. On that note, the Lannisters seem to be running a close second.
;)

No, wait,
it was the castellan they assassinated, and then took Edric Storm prisoner, because they needed the child of a king . And to be honest, I loved the Dany in the books, but for some reason can't stand the portrayal in the series. She comes across almost as whiny, for example when she keeps exclaiming that she is the Stormborn, the rightful heir, etc. The one in the books seemed to be a bit more reserved and calculating when it came to situations where important matters were decided and not so hot-headed and not so prone to meddle in empty talks.
Also, Jora was supposed to be one huge hairy motherfucking bastard, and this one doesn't quite fit the description.

Watched "Blackwater" last night, god damn what a good episode. And what a great song to cap it off with.

Watched the final episode tonight. Holy shit. Did anyone else jump out of their seat when "Jaquen" looks back at Aria that one last time? The part with Daenerys in the House of the Undying was fantastic as well, better than in the book even.
As the season has gone on though I'm amazed at how many characters have been cut out. "Florian the Fool", those two kids who help the Stark boys. I guess the writers of the show must've checked with RR Martin if they can leave those characters out. They'd run into trouble if one of those characters had a large part to play in one of the later books that hasn't been written yet.
And though the courtship between Robb and his bride haven't been as great as some other parts of the story, it'll make the consequences of his actions more meaningful and impactful when shit hits the fan later on.
Anyway, by now I have complete confidence in the show's writers. Can't wait for season 3. :)

Wow. Hardhome then. I was getting increasingly fucked off with how far Benioff & Weiss were bending the story away from the books, but that last episode just made everything seem worthwhile.
Serious production there.
Pow.
Etc.

Last week's episode, it seemed like every 5-10 minutes was another scene. But here they hung on to that epic battle for ages. It was intense. And since it's not in the books (my book-reading friend tells me) we actually couldn't be sure what's going to happen; who makes it and who won't. Great episode.

Yep, this was what I've been waiting for since the end of season 1. :thumb: Killer episode.

I just want Sansa to grow a spine. Please. And what's happening with Bran and Rickon? I agree that last week's episode was definitely awesome (as in literally-sitting-on-the-edge-of-my-seat during the battle with the White Walkers), but as usual, I'm left with more questions. The main one being whether or not Martin is going to finish the next novel in the GoT saga before a.) next season, or b.) he dies of old age. HBO is getting close to the end of the last book with this season's storylines, if I'm not mistaken (which I could be as it's been awhile since I read the last GoT installment).
At least none of my favorites characters were killed off during the last episode and that's always a plus for me.
