Well, if it is IP owned by the company then it's an asset that can be disposed of by the administrator to a willing buyer. If no-one buys it? That's a harder question.

Someone will buy the IP's, even if only to file spurious lawsuits, or even protect themselves from same. If the price came down enough I'd buy them, just to hang on my wall. "Check it out! I own the Homeworld IP!" Totally worth fifty cents or so. ...That won't happen.

If you do that, I'm going to find you and threaten you with bodily harm until you sell it back to Relic for a penny.
And then I'd probably smack your head into the wall anyway.

On the one hand, if THQ goes under, a bunch of talented people will be released from mind-numbing South Park and WWE games, and the Homeworld rights might be available again and possibly to Relic. On the other hand, Metro: Last Light would be in limbo.

Oh, so you've played Obsidian's unfinished South Park RPG? None of us know the state that it's in. Who are you to say that it's "mind-numbing"? One can't have a credible opinion on a game which they haven't played, moron.

I can't imagine anything about the SP RPG being mind-numbing considering the talent involved between both parties making it.
Edit: Also, is it appropriate to associate de-listing on NASDAQ with going under?

Well, I was referring more to the WWE games (which you ignored), but one can have a credible opinion on the franchise, and putting the people behind Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas, and KOTOR 2 to work on a South Park game of all things is a serious waste of narrative and world-building talent, which have always been their strong suits.
