I wanted to say something in a thread there and there was this scary red band up the top and i was a bit intimidated so i thought i'd just make a new thread.
So, there was talk about "the guy whose kid you save". I know the one. He seems a bit suspicious with his horrible recipe and i figured he had sixth house connections or something but anyway, how how how do you get that quest? He tells me to go away even when i'm the bloodskaal.

If he keeps telling you to go away, the probability is you've already killed his son without knowing it. The son is in a cave, I think directly underneath the Skaal village. You can enter it through the well in the centre of the village, or through a standard cave entrance near-ish to the village. He attacks on sight, so if you've visited that cave already you may, like me, have killed him without realising he had any quest significance, in which case the grieving father will never say anything to you beyond "Go away...." :erg:

Smeg. That's exactly what i did.

Same here. I wonder how much of a quest would've been added if we hadn't whacked the kid out 1st?

Not that much.
All you do is talk to the dad first. He gives you a key to the well and you talk to the son (after killing off the skellingtons) about how much his dad loves him and he sees the error of his ways and goes off to study good magic instead.
The reward isn't even that good in my opinion. But this particular character i'm playing at the moment is at level 67 and a millionaire with all the good gear so anything less than the best fails to impress!! (OOOH, that rymed! I'm a poet!!)
