Subnautica kinda felt like lightning in a bottle. But if Subnautica 2 is just more of the same but with coop, I'm still on board.
I'm hoping for some properly MASSIVE leviathans this time. I saw a video from a PC mod with a huge beast coming out of the water. We need something so big you realise the ship you crashlanded in (for example) is on it's back.

Over the Hill can be played in four-player coop, right? Henke, I'd definitely be curious, unless you're very much a solitary driver.
henke on 24/1/2025 at 08:08
Yeah I'd be up for co-oping it. :)

Ninja Gaiden 4 by Platinum Games. Things weren't looking good for Platinum with their recent string of key talent departures (eg Kamiya) and flops (eg Babylon's Fall), good to see them potentially back to form.

I'm hyped for the gameplay meta for Doom: The Dark Ages. Tanking damage, parrying, countering.

French indie JRPG, Expedition 33, is looking fantastic! Dark storytelling; feminine women; no signs of millennial hipsters drinking coffee and dropping MCU-esque/Whedon-esque humour = all good omens.

Stealth dropped during the Xbox Developer Direct: Ninja Gaiden 2 remake, done in UE5. Seemingly no censorship for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and it's looks to be a 1:1 remake. Utterly sick!

Female playable character missions ported over from the censored PS3 port, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, with the added violence of the OG Xbox 360 version! No outfit censorship, no jiggle physics censorship.

NG4 looks very last gen in that video. XBox only?
Who is doing the music for Doom Dark Ages? I hope it's Mick Gordon.

Ninja Gaiden 4's from Team Ninja... their entire aesthetic has been 'looks like an Xbox 360 game' for a while. Must help with budgets a fair deal, I imagine.
Mediaeval Doom certainly looks like they're taking feedback on board from Eternal's criticisms. I wasn't a fan of the platforming, amongst other things. The parry and counter system is, well, interesting for a Doom game, but I suppose if you're going for a melee-heavy mix-up, it's an obvious addition to make.

New game announcement from "art of rally" dev funselektor, and oh my god, it's beautiful... :D

Woah, their latest game
Golden Lap was only released like three months ago, and they're already announcing a new game?
This trailer does look great though! It's like a more accessible and ... dare I say it... more fun take on Mudrunner. :D

How many Henkes does this score on the Henke scale? Or is it too agricultural and not physics-driven enough?
henke on 4/2/2025 at 15:01
Naah, not so interested in farming sims.
New RoadCraft trailer dropped last week tho, liking the look of this!

So this is Saber's follow up to Spintires/Mudrunner/Snowrunner (for gods sake just PICK A NAME already), and it is building on the formula in interesting ways. The ability to build roads is a welcome addition, and perhaps a bit Death Stranding-inspired? The gameworlds of this series have long felt a bit empty with no traffic. I've been wondering if this is largely because programming AI traffic to navigate the rough terrain would lead to a lot of accidents. Seems like the devs are offloading the responsibility of traffic running smoothly on YOU by making you plot the routes yourself.
