Three qustions/problems about water. - by Lady Rowena

1- I started building my campaign way before the advent of New Dark, and I wanted to change the water colour into a mix of green and blue. All I did was to change the fam\waterhw\full.pcx with the colour I wanted. It works, and I'm quite happy with the the colour of my water.
The question is: what will happen if the player has one of those HiRes mod installed, it will overwrite the full.pcx? To tell the truth I don't like the HiRes water too much, it's still too blue or too green and, in my opinion, way too "crispy".
2- I have the trough with water by Sluggs, and since I wanted the water to be a little more realistic, I changed the only one texture with four frames picked from the waterhw fam. But the animation is not good, it starts from one side and quickly sprints to the other side without "returning back" (I hope it makes sense). I have no clue of which of the frames I should pick in order to make it look more smooth. Any help would be appreciated.
3- I have no real problems with this one, I'm just curious. This is the remake of The Haunted Cathedral. It had both blue and green water, if I remember well. I changed all the water into green (of course it's my custom blu-green), but still the blue water appears in the texture palette. I checked every single flowbrush in the mission, none of them has blue water. I deleted the blue water from the palette several times, but it always reappears. It does not happen with my other FMs, which are OMs remake as well. Any explanation?
Thanks in advance. :)

I think mission supplied resources always override any other resources. There is an order of precedence for file folders. See the New Dark documentation. As for your special animated texture, I suggest that you copy 2, and 3 to 6 and 5 respectively and use 6 frames (more would be better if you have more to smooth out the motion). That should give you an animation 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5(=3) -> 6(=2) -> 1 -> etc. which should do what you want, if I understood it correctly.

Larry, I hope you are rigt about the water palette. I will carefully read the documentation again. I will try the animation you suggest. Thanks. :)
