Some of those guys have great collections! I only have a couple copies of each Thief game and I thought THAT was overkill!

Ah, that was a great thread.:)
I don't really have any more pics to show, but I do have a little story to tell regarding Thief 2.
Back in 2001 I decided it was high time I bought Thief 2 for myself after having played TDP and Gold. So, I checked ebay and managed to find a trapezoid copy of Thief 2. I was so eager to get the box that I would personally go down to the mail-box (at the time I lived in some apartments and had to get my mail up near the club house by the main entrance) and check to see if it was there many times.
One day I went down there and caught the mail man putting stuff into people's boxes and asked him if he had mine. He did, and personally handed it to me IIRC. I was quite happy to have it in my possession finally.
Also, my introduction to Thief in the first place, but I'm pretty sure I've already posted that in the "who are you?" thread or whatever it was called. Ya know, where people introduced themselves on the forums.

I first discovered Thief sometime in 2009, when my friend bought a bundle containing Thief 2: The Metal Age and Thief: Deadly Shadows. As I watched him play the latter (since the other didn't work), I realized that the games looked quite interesting. So, a week or so later, I went out and bought the same bundle. I quite enjoyed both games, and I bought a copy of Thief: Gold through Steam a few years later. The series has since held a special place in my heart for their atmosphere and setting.

I was looking on google for Thief-like mods for Skyrim and came across the trailers for T4. Holy hell I've been out of the loop for over 4 years now! :erg:
I got Tomb Raider (the original one) for my 12th birthday in '98, right before TDP was released. I popped (

I played that demo EVERY FREAKING NIGHT between then and Easter 1999, sometimes staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning. Yeah, just that shortened version of Bafford's manor. I was so incredibly hooked and finally saved up the money to buy the full game some time in April. That was 14 years ago, and I still think that was the most exciting day of my life. :cheeky:
I'm actually reinstalling Dark Project right now. This is going to be a freaking amazing summer.

I remember the first time I played thief 1, I was so excited when my stepdad put it on the computer for me:cheeky:
I did play thief 2 though before I played thief 1 and I first started playing thief 2 when I was 8 back in 2007. But when I was first playing thief 1 I didn't know what to expect and it was such a great experience for me and I love the nostalgic feeling I get from playing thief 1. Also the first time I played thief 1 it was back in 2010 and it was the thief gold version, so I have no experience with any of the thief: the dark project versions of the thief 1 missions.:laff:

Oh man, voodoo cards! That was the shit back in the day! In fact, I think it was either because of Thief or Final Fantasy 7 (pc version) that I first tried upgrading my computer with one (some crappy HP, iirc). Saw on the box that the recommended specs said something about "a discrete video accelerator card", so I went out, bought one, and plugged it in. I was quite impressed with the jump in performance! Though I can't quite remember what model card I had... a 3000 model, I think?
It wasn't long before I was making more upgrades, then finally going out and building my own systems. I haven't bought a pre-built computer since like 2000, all thanks to Thief, pretty much =)

Many fond memories of being engrossed in the world of Thief in the dead of night. I took a sick day from school the day Thief 2X came out and was not disappointed.
That said Thief was hugely influential to me. I feel that Thief is directly reaponsible for my love if Lovecraft, supernatural horror films, and a lot of dark, atmospheric music.
