I can't help but be dissapointed. I mean, I love Tim Schafer and so I'll play it, but I generally find heavy metal to be really obnoxious, so I really wish it had another theme. On the other hand, I'm not into bike culture and I loved Full Throttle, so maybe it will be okay? At least it's not hip-hop themed...

i fkn hate puffy dyed hair metal, i despise the kind of humor jack black does but this looks like mindless fun. if the script is only 10% as sharp and witty as Psychonauts was it's gonna be better than sex with Dio
let's see if they can top the milkman

Heavy metal fantasy? VERY weird, but sounds AWESOME!

Tim Schafer and Jack Black are both fucking awesome. I expect nothing short of utter awesomeness.
Sierra must have a lot of faith in this being successful, given that they're sending out $70 record players as part of the initial press launch.

Heavy metal and fantasy used to be very closely aquainted once. This is '70s Frazetta airbrushed panel van' the game, I hope.
With comedy.

Yeah but its mostly sceney or revival stuff (which seems to be making a comeback). Your average punter might not get the association as the last ten years or so it all went elsewhere. Most folks I know, who could not care less, would not associate the two; fantasy is for nerds, heavy metal is for tough guys. A foolish point of view to be sure, but not entirely surprising given trends in popular culture.
