Just finished the game on Brutal setting.
The final battle was insanely easy - the trick is after the first tower comes down, don't get into a battle with the bad guys because you wont win, just focus on the other tower and then mop them up when that comes down. And I've finally made my mind up about the game. Namely, its alot of fun; but ultimately its more style over actual substance. The "main story" of the game is quick and easy and I feel like more effort went into the music and artwork than the actual gameplay which is a shame but to be expected I guess.
Still, some fun to be had completing all the tasks and achievements now I guess; but for me this is not a GOTY contender unfortunately

I would have preferred that Brutal Legend remained an action-adventure, which is where it shines IMO.
The mediocre rts elements are lame enough that I actually tend to avoid stage battles for quite a while.

Has anyone played the multiplayer? It seems like the stage battles might work in that context.

I picked up a brand new PS3 copy for $10 NZD yesterday. Jesus, this game must've bombed colossally sales wise. TBH, good. That's what you get for being acting like a total douche towards people for simply having the desire to play your game, TimmyS.

So what do you think of the game?

I'll let you know once I've gotten my PS3 fixed. The BD laser stopped reading discs in December, it's an import console so I can't get it replaced under warranty. BD laser units aren't exactly cheap either.
The current priority is saving up for a 360 slim, I've already paid off 1/5th of it at EB Games.

I picked it up for £15 recently myself. So far I'm quite enjoying it. Jack Black seems to be giving a slightly toned-down performance, which is somewhat disappointing, but so far I've been having fun.

That addresses one worry I've had: the less restrained Jack Black is, the more I tend to find him annoying - added to which I find Shafer's humour works best when it's deadpan.
Here's hoping that my US PS3 won't go on the fritz like EvaUnit02's...

It's about time. I might get it but I'm wary of preordering without knowing how good/bad of a port it is.
