Hello Nightwalker,
For the english version , the old saves (with bad textures) function very well with the version which has good textures. :)

Please one little info ! No, it will be a separate tool, outside Thief and outside Darkloader. The function will be to start it after you installed a multi langual mission. It will present a list of the available languages in the mission pack. You choose one and start Thief after that. Thief will show menus, scrolls and object name in the correct language if available in the mission pack. Things that are not delivered in the mission pack are shown in their default langage (the version of Thief you bought). That is the idea, I have to work out some things but I am pretty confident I can do it. It could be incorporated in Darkloader when it is finished, but that is up to the author of Darkloader. I emailed him some time ago to ventilate some other ideas I had, but have not got a return on that yet. When it works I might offer it to him to keep things simple in one program.

The dlownload from LongFinger's web sight does not work for me. Could the quota be exceeded? I just checked Epitumia's site, and the updated version with fixed textures is not there yet, at least it is not in plain sight where I can see it. Maybe it will show up soon....

Since an hour or so the fresh Timoteus .zip files are available at my website (
http://members.lycos.nl/longfinger.) One zipfile only contains the miss22.mis file and is 4.13 Mb in size. The complete download is 5.5 Mb in size and also has the silent doors repaired in the corridor on the top floor (opposite the library).
The download on Epithumia's website is also upgraded by Lady Jo today. She discovered that the patch of yesterday had good textures, but french object names in it. That is why the download on my site did not work for a while today. I removed the zipfile with the patch. I have been working on it and it is now finished. I could not report here earlier because TTLG was down again.
Sorry about the inconvenience, but if you downloaded the patch yesterday, you must have noticed the french key descriptions etc. I am really sorry, it was my own mistake.

@ anyone
I went into Room 2, found the western hammer, used it and now I am in a new room and am completely stuck. what to do now? I can't even go back since I get teleported back and forth...any ideas?
thanks

I think you cought the point of no return. It has been discussed earlier in this thread. I don't think there is a way out of here. You are just unlucky when you did not open the secret door at the end of the passageway first, before you teleported there from room #2, and you did not open one of the other hammer gates first. In that case you have to return to a previous save or....:( start again...
Sorry

a) the secret passageway or
b) get to the other hammer(s)?

about the secret corridor
Look under the elevator in the room where the female is patroling
the hammers
Search the numbered rooms 1..4 very carefully. All teh rooms have a secret, and are related to one hammer.
There are a lot of postings about this a few pages back in this thread

Just finished the english version on Expert. Great job especially since it's a first release. I've now read through this thread and I'm amazed I got as far as I did on my own (I did need a hint as to how to deal with the haunts guarding the member list although I was on the right track there). I was also sure I had missed a ton of loot and some secrets but I was only about 200 short of the max and found all four secrets; I must have been on a lucky streak! ;)

ok, I already had
the western hammer, the office key behind a vase, and I found a switch where I can hear a noise of a door opening, but I have no idea where that is. all the other rooms 1-4 when I get teleported I have no way to open anytging besides the western lock. so a small clue would suffice?
and believe me, I have always searched and read postings so to not ask twice. I've been a taffer long before ye was born ;)
thanks for the help
