Hi, I think I'm done with this but was wondering whether there were additional doors to be opened in the basement before exiting? I ask this because
there was a pattern in the combinations used to open the different doors in the basement.
what kind of pattern?
the differences between the combinations were 397, 469,547,631 and so on....each increased by 6 more than the increase of the previous.
This would lead me to believe that the following additional combinations might do something:
9261, 8000, skipping down to before the first in the sequence 1000, 0729, 0512, 0333, 0208 and so on.
So has anyone found anything else in the basement other than all the originally visible doors? I started down this track because the apparent exit didn't open when I
put the explosive device at the appropriate gate (next door to the room that had the explosive device?)
Anyway, all compliments to the author of the mission. I had quite a good time playing it.

I just went back and played around....silly me I typed in the wrong number for the exit combo. I would still be curious if the other combinations did anything though.

Older FM that I am playing for the first time. Marvelous, brilliant FM. Probably the most difficult I have played; and most frustrating.....but really, really good.
Playing on Hard the first time, and maybe the last time.
I cannot find an exact answer to enable me to proceed on this thread, so please forgive me for reviving it.
I have searched for the spot to use the explosive device "in a room next to the library that is under construction". This is a standing shelf in a closet that cannot be blown up/down.
.
In the room under construction with scaffolding, I cannot find bricks that are removable.??.
I have retrieved the Borks book in the hiddy hole in the Library. No ghosts, or whatever, appeared. I did not put Young Mozart's skull on a shelf with other skulls; mainly because I haven't found that place..
I can go no further until I find the key to open the gates in the deposit room.
I think most everything else has been completed. Oh, duh,...I have not found the blue vase, but I have beaten every box to death because I read that is where I will find it.
Would someone please have pity on moi and help me out? :o

I can't recall the details of this mission but I've emailed you a walkthrough that you can check. Hopefully that will get you unstuck. :)

I just had to make a comment for this excellent mission: it is a must play one !!!
Thank you so much Timon for making it :thumb:

Agreed. Great mission :thumb: I hope to see another mission (FF3 maybe?) from Timon :)

I'm having a problem advancing in this mission that I never had previously. In the library where you come across 2 plaques on the floor, prompting you to choose which hallway to walk down, the one on the right teleports you while the one straight ahead imprisons you. For me, both choices imprisons me.
A smaller thread refers to this problem. The solution offered was to patch T2 to the newer version. Well, that was a long time ago. I now play Thief via Steam and am patched to the hilt, I presume. Things have been relatively fine playing this way, but now I've come to this problem. Is there anyone out there who have recently played Timoteus using Steam as a platform, and come across this issue ?

It could be that the newest patch is causing the problem. There have been instances of things in older missions not working properly with it reported. A few authors have updated missions to fix that but in general, if I'm playing an older mission, I use an install that's ver. 1.18. It's easy to have multiple installs and less frustrating than getting partway through a mission and being unable to complete it.

In this case, it's not crucial to completing the mission. I quicksave a lot, and the problem of being trapped was easily rectified by reloading a save made literally seconds before. What it prevents, however, is my being able to access all the loot. So, unless someone comes up with a cure, I'll carry on with the mission.
Additions to this thread brings it to the front of the forum, and I consider that a plus as it reintroduces a great mission to others. Hopefully, people will be forewarned when approaching this point in the game (unless the problem is specific to me).
I still haven't upgraded to v1.19, v1.20, or v1.21. I'm nervous about fixing something that isn't broken. But from what I've read, the benefits outweigh the problems.
