I think that lever [SPOILER]reveals one of the hammers inside this marble ring mounted on the wall in one of the nearby rooms.[/SPOILER] I haven't figured out what the hammers are for though.

the hammer is still locked in...
i got stuck a few times in those rooms when you stood too close to something so may be i went too fast ...

Bukary - Where is the vault or basement exactly? I have checked each floor and I can't find any other areas of interest. Is it a locked door or is it accessible from a secret door/panel etc?

yes there a switch behind the pillar closest to the wall
