So far I've loved the site in general. Truly some disturbing articles out there.
It's cool that many are REDACTED out so you can fill some of the blanks with your imagination.
Maybe a brave TTLGer should write an article for the site?
STALKER-ish?
:)
Great stuff, Renz.

To be honest I find most of the stuff I've read on there so far pretty lame. The staircase and abandoned school are my favourite, love the mask and the birthday monkey as well even though they got a tad too silly.
EDIT: Is it just me or is this thread a lot bigger seen on the inside than on the forum page? SCP material!

Gah. I can't believe it's the new year and I haven't told Koki to go choke on a horse dick yet.
Hey, Koki! Go choke on a horse dick!
Yeah, Koki! Horse cock gently slapping against your mouth!

SCP Material indeed. I didn't think anyone had responded to the thread until Mr. Duck pointed it out to me.
Maybe this isn't fiction after all. Maybe The Foundation is real, and they don't want me spreading their material about. Maybe they're the cause behind the current server issues TTLG is facing.
I feel like I've made a mistake here.

As for SPC, another fine product of 4chan.
...a horrible, horrible mistake.

I loved how the mask convinced someone to murder-suicide in like five lines.
Wish
I was this persuasive.

I think Renz has picked out some of the most genuinely chilling articles. Mostly for the rest there's a baseline of "weird item\monster kept in a concrete box". Still it's fun reading.

Actually, I missed adding one of the best...
(
http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-342) The Ticket.
I'd rank this one just below the endless stairwell for all around creepiness.

This is a good time as any to say that using too many adjectives in your sentences DOES NOT create an atmosphere. Usually this is a sure sign of an underage or inexperienced writer who cannot think of other ways to describe qualities. Though some authors never get past that stage.
H.P. Lovecraft, I'm looking at your unspeakably sinister gruesome horrifying short stories depicting terrible dark godforsaken evil horrors of drowning in adjective redundancy.
Stitch on 5/1/2011 at 15:39
Yeah, Lovecraft was a staggeringly influential creative force that I admire despite the fact that he wasn't that great of a writer.
These SCPs are a mixed bag. Renzatic's links are pretty good, some of them chilling, but most of the rest are a bit one note. The writing is also hit and miss--"civilian" dialogue transcripts tend to overuse swearing and phonetically transcribed dialect (e.g. "fuck fuck dis shit be scarin' da fuckin pants offa me shit fuck Imma black dude fuck"--and death/severe behavior is way overused, as Koki of all people pointed out (in horror, something with unknown properties is more frightening than INSTANT DEATH IF YOU EVEN GLANCE AT IT YEEAARGGH).
But, all that aside, these guys generally have the style down pat and a few of the SCPs Renz linked are genuinely unsettling, especially the staircase one (although even that could be improved considerably if toned down).

That's one of the FAQ and there's an answer to it there ... sort of. (FAQ link is on the left-hand menu).
