Yer I saw the reference to them but I was just confused as to why you thought they were only in the original, non patched versions and the whole first post was sort of rambley confusing - being thrown into it without any real explanation as to what was going on.
The simple answer would be to ask whoever writes / mantains that list - I can't tell you who, but i'm sure someone can :S You could also ask them to put sources in it for your pleasure or as it seems you are writing your own one, you could do them yourself? :) (once of course you know)
Sorry, you just kind of started ranting in the first post without properly explain as to why it was important / you wanted to know (it just seemed like the link to the list was there to show others who the names you were reffering to were). This may have been because I only saw the edited version though, i don't know.
Anyway, thanks for explaining.

Whoohoo!

Wie Sie befehlen, sir. (I have no idea if that's correct at all...:o :cheeky: )
Actually. I haven't found B or J, yet.
There's the goofy LGS guys bein' nutty:
sg3c0101: "I long for the days when we had pizza for the staff meetings."
sg2c0102: "What? Those pies had enough grease to drop a Burrick!"
sg3c0103: "You softbelly! I'm surprised you're in this job. 'Oh that grease is hurting my poor tummy.'"
sg2c0104: "Shut up you taffer!"
sg3c0105: "Well, I better get on my patrol on the first floor."
sg2c0106: "I better go on my patrol before Captain [Steve] Pearsall catches me slackin' off."
sg3c0107: "Oh my god! They killed the sherrif!"
sg2c0108: "You bastard!"
sg3c0109: (Singing, badly on purpose, but with gusto) "I shot the sheriff, but I didn't shoot the deputy." (Vocal mimicry of high-note on guitar with vibrato).
sg2c0110: "No he's really dead!"
sg3c0111: "OK, we better go downstairs and find him before he hides in the shadows. Then we won't be able to find him at all."
Then there's Vilnius and Sergeant Gerk (actual spelling unknown) conversing about the nobility attending the function at Angelwatch. Vilnius is a male version of the character master-key-holding Vilnia, whom Karras put in charge of overseeing the event in his absence in TMA's Life of the Party.
As stated above, ME1030*.wav's are found in the Hammer2 folder, while SG4030*.wav's are found in the Guard1 folder. Transcription as follows:
ME1C0301: "These are strange times indeed, when The Builder's chosen must cater to the folly of the unworthy. Present company excluded, of course, Sergeant Gerk(sp?)."
SG4C0302: "Of course. Personally, I find The City's nobility to be pretentious, pompous, and filled with misconceptions about their own self-worth. But it serves our purposes to stay on their good side, doesn't it Vilnius? I have to admit though...that their presence makes me a bit nervous. You're sure the schematics are safe?"
ME1C0303: "Completely sure, Friend Gerk(sp?). They rest securely in the central office (play 'New Objective' sound:p). There's a faithful brother at the door, and I carry the only key. Besides, the bretheren long to put steel to flesh, for they've not tasted righteous battle in far too long. They will guard our common interests with their lives, if need be."
SG4C0304: "Good. You put me at ease. Maybe I'll relax my guard a bit and partake of some of your wine."
ME1C0305: "An excellent idea, Friend Gerk(sp?). The Builder's nectar is the finest our Order has to offer. Now if you'll excuse me, I must attend to our guests...."
"The Builder's Nectar" sounds like a brand (Little LOL). Anybody know of a Gerk, or know if I'm spelling that name correctly? It would be out of place with the devs' style if the name was just made-up.

I can't watch it.:tsktsk: Missing a Quicktime component.
A *bump* for Barak. A *bump* for Lord Janco. Count two for two names unaccounted for (click click).

(Sighs) Well...I solved my "Jackweed" mystery. It's actually "Jacksweed". One variation I hadn't tried. Still no Barak or Janco, or an explanation of how they ended up in the Lexicon....

Please read the first post as the point of this thread has been fulfilled and the first post spells out our official conclusions. Any new and/or enlightening info is still welcome!
I'll express our gratitude yet once more to those named above who helped us wrap this business up.
By the way...there are over 1400 names in the Master List of Names in Thief, now. About half of them are from Deadly Shadows alone.

I take it that you've attempted to contact the Magpie for further information? Or asked Digi for further info?
