I just played Assassins a couple of days ago, and I remember hearing that conversation. I think it's between the two guards in the courtyard, but I could be wrong.
Ah thanks - I haven't played it in a while. I just don't remember that one. When my pc is mended I'll have a look thanks :) Is yours the original or gold? (mines gold)

In order to hear all the conversations you'll have to play without knocking anybody out that isn't on the move. Also, how you approach an area can trigger a conversation, or not. I found this out when I made it into the corridors of the mansion and found two guards in a room with loot that I couldn't get--because I wasn't advanced enough to know how. So I made a mess of things but got the loot. My friend played the game for the first time, after watching me, and he made different decisions, going straight instead of left, for instance. When he got near that room, the two guards had a conversation, and then walked out of the room! Hiding in a hallway closet to watch them leave is how I discovered the flying door bug. Anyway, when I'm feelin' lazy, I go the way my friend did so the guards clear the room themselves.
There are many conversations I haven't heard in the game because I usually like to knock all the AI out. But I've listened to 90% of the sound files, including all of the conversations.

I have both, but I was playing gold.
But like jtr7 said, some conversations can be rather tricky, and the one in Ramirez's courtyard is one of them. I tried to approach them from outside, I doused the two torches on the courtyard entrance and moved as close to them as I could without being seen, but the conversation didn't trigger. They just stood there facing each other, which made it impossible to either blackjack them or sneak by them. I found another way inside, and when at some point I opened one of the doors leading to the courtyard from the inside, the conversation triggered and they started patrolling afterwards.
Mind you, I'm not positive that was the Brennan conversation, it could have been somewhere inside the house.

Hahah yer I know the bit you're talking about - and after they've left you go and grab the loot on the table and there's a book there too either showing a hitlist of people ramirez wants killed or his takings / who owes him money. I can't exactly remember.
Ah I ghosted it anyway though - but the thing is, I'm worried you don't get to hear all conversations that way? due to not being able to get too close / go to certain places where conversations happen (the guard room bit next to the kitchen iirc?) and stuff like that. Are my fears justified or not? lol
If it's the conversation at the gates, that being the courtyard then yer I remember hearing that (though dunno what it's about). I thought it was something to do with them saying cragscleft got closed down, but I can't remember. To be honest I probly heard the convo anyway - but when I get my pc back I'll play it again to find out hehe :)

There is one conversation at the main entrance to Ramirez's when you first arrive there, but that's definitely not the one. By courtyard, I mean the one that has several entrances leading inside the house - you need to go to the left from the main gate and walk around the building (dodging a couple of patrols) to get there from the outside.

I do believe the best place to hear that conversation is actually after you've gained access to Ramirez's home and are roaming around the upper floor - there is a balcony that opens onto that courtyard, and you trigger the conversation quite well from there. But, if memory serves, that's the one where the guards are talking about Ramirez's burricks, and how one of them will "be down there, rubbing their tummies".
... which brings to mind the fact that the speech we're discussing isn't listed in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60248&page=1&pp=25&highlight=transcript) T1/G Transcript.
... has anyone actually heard the quote in game?

I cannot recall if I heard it in-game...
sg1c1201: "I hear you're going to be assigned monster babysitting."
SG2C1202: "What? Why me?"
sg1c1203: "The boss thinks his nasties don't get enough affection. You'll be down there rubbin' their tummies!"
SG2C1204: "I'll quit first. See if I don't!"
Which reminds me: Is it possible to fire up DromEd and quickly locate a conversation and where the event takes place in a given mission? We could use people like that for the ETU. I'm nowhere near skilled enough to do it, but spix and I would like to find out what conversations take place in what missions and exactly where on the map.
But I digress....

The one you just quoted is the one Solabusca is on about, and is definately as you go into that courtyard - i have a strong memory of that conversation lol :p
The originaly one we are discussing though I have no idea as I can't play the game at the moment (or at least can't be bothered to install, fiddle around to get it working, then play all the way up to assassins on this computer :p).

Sorry, yes, I was saying that the tummy-rub quote is the one that activates in the courtyard. I was trying to recall where the "Brennan" conversation takes place.
And, of course, we wait on the reply from Larris (if any is forthcoming) to further delve into this Barak/Janco business.
