The demo for Tom Clancy's Endwar is up on Xbox Live Marketplace. Has anyone tried it yet?
Might it finally be the RTS game that works on consoles (sans mice of course)?

Tried it.
First off, voice command would seem to be a huge help. I lack a mic with me at school, and I was crippled by not being able to issue commands in time.
As far as gameplay, this one comes closer to World in Conflict or company of heroes: The focus is on unit tactics, not resource management. It is also fairly fast-paced and hectic. In this aspect, I have little but praise for it, as it is probably the ony strategy/tactics game I have played to capture the feel of commanding a real-time firefight.

Get a mic. Makes a world of a difference. And hey, Tom Clancy might just solve the big issue (at least the one I consider the BIG issue of RTS gaming on consoles) of console RTSs', controls basically.
Takes time getting used to and being quick on wit and word to get things rolling, but shit does happen lads, shit does happens.
Lets hope they don't drop the ball on this one :)

Best way to describe the gameplay.....
Think any of the sections from code Geass where Zero is directing a battle.

Well that makes everything clear!

Not looking too appealing at all, TBH. I couldn't find a video showcasing the voice commands, but I don't really see the point when you have a mouse.

No One In Particular's Stormrise also has a fancy console-friendly control scheme. It's so fancy in fact I didn't understand a thing of it watching the instructional vid.
All in all though, no matter what clever tricks they use, it will still be inferior. Let's hope it won't interfere with how the PC version is played, like it sometimes happens with FPSes.
