Fuck the dots.
Anyone following it? I always wanted to try out Ace Combat, minus all the consoles.
Exbawks demo is out already, PC/PS3 demo on 23rd.

I saw the title and thought it was a skateboarding/counterterrorism game.

Ace Combat is a fantastic, light hearted flight sim.
I'm getting somewhat dubious of these "Tom Clancy" games. The guy wrote a bunch of books, co-founded a development studio and now has people write books with his name on it.
If it happens to be any good I'd certainly try it.

I was a big fan of Tom Clancy before the brand.
I've never read any of the op center, politika or... whatever that other one was called... apparently theres a splinter cell book series too... meh
R6 was awesome. I never played rogue spear but i heard it was ragequit worthy. I bought r6 3 but it was so ... bland i never played it past the first mission. and I have played all the splinter cell games so far. I dont think they're amazing or revolutionary, but i do find them entertaining.

The cockpit trailer that was posted on RPS a few days ago was pretty awesome. I have a feeling this might be right up my alley, sort of the flight sim equivalent of what Freespace was to hardcore space simming.

I've never played Ace Combat; is it more of a Strike Commander kind of thing?

Some missions in Rogue Spear are quite difficult, if you want to have all important team members alive and kicking at the end. The Prague theater mission can give you hell, you'll have to put down 2 or 3 terrorists aiming their pistols at the hostages at the same time, because they are very cautious of their surroundings and can execute the hostages easily.
Hardcore tactical thing, but ultimately satisfying if you are into this genre.
You say Raven Shield is weak? That's pity, I actually thought I give it a chance and buy it as budget edition.
For sure I'm going to try Advanced Warfighter in foreseenable future.

The AI in GRAW2 for PC can be spectacularly stupid on many occasions. They'll often stand around clueless, meanwhile you're close-by, scoring several kills in row.
Of course, the AI snipers have super-human senses and you'll be dead within moments.
Oh it's still definitely a good solid game, that's worth playing. GRAW1 is far more polished than GRAW2, due to a longer development cycle. The sequel is pretty much a standalone expansion pack.
I really like how it disables quick save when enemies are nearby.

Stupid teammate AI is a chronic disease of these games and you would expect it's an important area, to which the devs should dedicate considerable attention. Tragedy... However if the GRAW2 is essentially based on the same AI scripts as the previous title, isn't it a bit surprising?

I was talking about the enemy AI. Sorry, should've been clear the first time.

I've played far more of GRAW2 than I have of GRAW1 (like several missions vs. the first 15 mins), so I couldn't tell you. I installed GRAW2 to benchmark my card with the advanced PhysX settings enabled and just ended up playing it.
