Just grabbed and played the demo on the 360 and yep, it's fun! Certainly nothing resembling a sim, or at least not on the 'normal' difficulty level and 'normal' control set.
Lots of ducking a diving, lots of flying close to the ground (though that was not necessary, I found it fun) and lots of shooting and blowing stuff up. Great fun!
Exactly, not a sim but it reminded me of such semi-arcade titles of 16-bit era as F-29 Retaliator, or Thunderhawk. Looking forward to seeing the retail.

looking forward to this. Sounds like some dumb fun. Perhaps Similar to crimson skies.

Mmmm...Crimson Skies. What a great, often overlooked, and consequently forgotten title. I need to get a copy, as I only played it @ my brother's.

I saw the title and thought it was a skateboarding/counterterrorism game.
At first I gave the title a brief glance and thought it really was about a skateboarding game. :\

This thread made me order Crimson Skies. It should be here soon. I would like to try HAWX, as well, but I am not super-psyched about it.

I'm sorry, but all of that pre-mission planning ruined those games for me. Too far away from what I was looking for in a game. At least R63 made them optional.
Hey, this is not Call of Duty.
There is BEAUTY in being obsessed with creation of genial Master Plan and then watch it to be totally ruined in practice, by stupid AI. :cheeky:
However I reckon that this tactical planning has been gradually dumbed down in tactical shooters since R3 1/2.
So I may try Raven Shield sometime... or not.
