The trailer says it's coming out for PC. I think I'd go with that rather than whatever speculation is out there.
Oh blimey, you're right. Well then, it's settled, I know nothing about this game so far that I don't like.

Must Tomb Raider be rebooted so often? After avoiding the series since TR3, I gave Legend a go and was so pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed the whole thing. Then anniversary came along, and since I hardly played the original, it was nice to get a chance to go through with up to date graphics (and streamlined levels?). Underworld was alright - sometimes tedious, the story becoming more convoluted, yet still engaging.
And now they have to reboot it again? Hell, don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to this game and I appreciate innovation - but why the hell can't they finish the Lara/Lara's mother/Amanda/Avalon/Magic Swordy storyline?! Or did they actually finish that? Man, my recollection of Underworld is a little hazy. I just seem to remember the ending just begged for a sequel. Ah well, will follow this closely regardless.

I'm looking forward to this new one because it so far doesn't seem to be all about awakening some ancient god with the mystical mcguffins of destiny. Anniversary got it so right by just sticking to what it was best at - large, complex tombs to clamber about in. Every time there was combat or a cutscene I was asking myself whether the game would still work without it, and I think the answer is yes.
Lara Croft and the Island of Sprained Ankles is much more intriguing to me than all the ridiculous ancient world magic that bogs down the series.

(

Lara Croft and the Land of OW OW OW OW OOF UNK. AKA The Busted Knees and Black Bruises on Shinbones Simulator.

i guess koki likes his women bruised and vaguely underage-looking
Koki on 7/6/2011 at 07:08
Vaguely underage? Even for an american that's seriously stretching it.
As for the game, natives? Uhhhh don't know how I feel about that.

I'm gonna predict the future here, and say that they're not "natives", as in island dudes who chuck spears, but people who were passengers on those crashed boats and planes you see littering the shore. They've probably lived isolated on the island for years, slowly going crazy due to the lack of modern entertainment.
Then you show up.
I know this because I saw an episode of Duck Tales that had a similar plot.

Well, they must've degenerate quite a bit to hang women upside down near primitive altair things. But I'm gonna buy this for now just because Duck Tales did it

Maybe they were jaded Japanese businessmen with a battered jailbait fetish or something. I dunno.
